Clapton Pond — Attraction in London

Clapton Pond. For some it is an oasis of calm amid the hustle and bustle of a vibrant corner of Hackney. To others, it is merely the final destination of the 38 bus.

Sit on the bench and watch the water feature and dream of a time when such pleasures were the preserve of the few. Now we all can sit on a bench and watch the fountain. Will it make us happy? Of course not. Happiness is not reached by watching water spurt into the sky.

Happiness is a state of mind found in all of us, though for some it is fleeting, like a gentle zephyr on a still day. For others it is a hurricane, if they have the strength to bear it.

Exists right in the centre of an horrendous amount of noisy traffic. It is still a nice little oasis where you can sit on a bench and watch the ducks or feed the flying rats (pigeons) if you want a little break. Since they added a fountain it looks better.
