I found this hidden gem today, just on a little parade of shops opposite a Jet petrol station and car wash.
Whether you are a tourist, local or just like to have breakfast/lunch out, this is a real find. Plenty of parking and not far from London Fields, Hackney Downs Park and Hackney Marshes with the bonus of being on a decent bus and train route.
'The Full English' serves everything from its name sake to poached eggs and salmon. I'm a meat eater but had the Vegetarian full English with sour dough bread which was delicious. You can mix and match and there is so much more on the menu.
The staff are really friendly and the place was clean and had a really lovely atmosphere. It's quite small but like an emporium of history and funny anecdotes which can't be appreciated from the photographs. There are all sorts of quirky features which make this a really inviting must see space. You will be amazed by all of the knick-knacks and the thought that has gone into the eclectic style. If you are there long enough and have to use the bathroom your mind will be blown!
The real test of a great eatery is it's customers and there was certainly a good flow of regulars all asking for their usual.
Definitely one for the bucket list! I live in Greenwich but intend to visit and take friends often.
We hopped on the bus up to Islington afterwards which made a really great day...

After many disappointments in trendy overhyped cafes and getting ripped off by snooty restaurants who can't fry an egg right, we finally found the perfect brekkie place.
Every fan of the full english breakfast knows that it is really hard to find a place that does it properly in urban areas. This place is the lone exception in this part of London.
Cooked by a Turkish genius who has not only figured out how to plate the perfect english breakfast but has even found ways to elevate the experience, the plates we had here surpassed every expectation. Who knew that a sprinkle of chives and chilli flakes made fried eggs that much better? Who could imagine and garlic infused oil and coriander seeds could elevate the humble sautéed mushroom to little morsels of bliss? Observe the clever partial slicing of the cumberland sausage to increase crispy surface area, take note of the little saucer for baked beans, no need to use your sausage as a breakwater. And those were no floppy mass produced bread slices, they were genuine flavourful proper sourdough, served with real butter. Delight after delight.
The vibe is humble but really cool, the walls are a mosaic of jokes, quotes and memorabilia which means you have loads to talk about while waiting.
Prices are also extremely reasonable for this...
Read moreI was recommended the Full English breakfast here by a very good friend. What I was expecting was a Full English breakfast! And after all this place is named the full English breakfast! What I got to my disappointment was NOT a FULL English breakfast! A Full English breakfast consists of a sausage Cumberland or or otherwise it doesnât matter, than back bacon baked beans fried eggs or poached or scrambled fried fresh tomatoes fried mushrooms and black pudding! These are key ! Sometimes something me cafes offer additions of bubble and squeak which this didnât have available! But for the love of me whatâs American hash browns doing in an English breakfast?! I understand if someone wants to add this to their breakfast! But it has no place in a traditional English breakfast! And should definitely be excluded! And chips ? Thatâs just a plate filler for the huge plate! That isnât necessary without chips ! Yes no place for chips/fries in an English breakfast ! So really this place is serving a so called english breakfat that you could get from any other greasy spoon anywhere in Hackney ! I give two stars for the pleasant service! But nothing for the ordinary...
