I was really looking forward to my visit at the Dorich House Museum. I absolutely love art and have been captivated by Dora Gordine’s story for a long time. Although the collection and grounds did not disappoint, the same cannot be said for the staff. Lynesse (I think that’s how you spell her name) could not have tried harder to make me feel out of place. She was cold, she was off, she was rude - but treated the other [white] patrons a lot differently. Despite Dorich House Museum making a blanket statement in 2020 attesting to its commitment to be anti-racist I don’t believe Lynesse got the message. You need to book free visits in advance and we practically had the house to ourselves, an added bonus.
