Vanilla Patisserie — Restaurant in London

I recently visited Vanilla, an Iranian patisserie in Richmond, and I must say, I was absolutely delighted with my experience! I had been looking for a good Persian patisserie in London to introduce to my European friends, who love cakes and sweets. Vanilla did not disappoint!

From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a very polite lady and gentleman (unfortunately, I forgot their names), and in no time, I knew I had made the right choice. The store was spotless, hygienic, and the products were beautifully displayed and well-kept. I purchased several different types of pastries, and all my friends absolutely loved them. Five star guys 🤘🤘

If you’re in the Richmond area, I highly recommend stopping by and giving it a try—you won’t regret it! I was also impressed by the presence of a tanoor oven, where they were baking fresh "Lavash" bread. I only wish my house were closer, as I’d definitely buy my bread from them all the time.

We decided to stop at this nicely decorated shop as we drove by.

I got a selection of different baklavas; I have a sweet tooth, but these baklavas were sickly sweet and lacked much of the nut filling compared to similar I have bought in most other places. Also, I was told one particular type had cream on the inside, which turned out to have only an overpowering mouthful of syrup in both specimens we bought!

A lot of the contents of the plate went in the bin unfortunately.

Honestly, there are some slightly better alternatives that can be bought pre-packaged in some Iranian/Arabic shops around the corner, which defeats the purpose of buying at this overpriced Patisserie.

I will stick to some of the well-known North London places from now on, even though they are out of my way.

The selection of cakes looked appealing but again it was style over substance; what we got also tasted distinctly average.
