This bridge is a bridge in Kingston which is why it's called Kingston bridge. The bridge allows pedestrians and traffic to pass above the water whilst simultaneously allowing vessels to seamlessly navigate their way through the river Thames undisturbed. It's one of the bridges in Kingston and it looks as though it does everything it's meant to but I haven't studied bridges so that may be incorrect. As far as I'm aware it's here to stay which is useful and is probably why it's here anyway but just a thought? The only reason I'm leaving 3 stars is because it's a bridge at the end of the day but it is still quite a good one and does everything it should do. Just a final point, the moss near the bank looks slippy and wet so definitely approach with caution but in fairness that's not actually the...

Stand on the bridge, best position would be at the John Lewis end , and take in the views left and right - wind the clock back to King Henry's time and imagine rowboats, river pageants, fishermen, sailors, normal folks . .. history flowing past. Now it is a strategic crossing point over the River Thames in this stretch of London. Today the bridge carries a total of approximately 50,000 vehicles per day with some 2000 vehicles per hour crossing in each direction at peak times. The river is currently home to houseboats, pleasure craft and ferries plying the Hampton Court-Greenwich route.
