Beautiful place to just and think while taking in the amazing views across the valley. On a nice summers day from the start of the track at purley Downs end, the view allows you to see most of Kenley common all the way to Whyteleafe south, and the perimeter of the old Kenley Aerodrome which played a part in protecting the South of England during the second world war. It is also a great place to take and walk your dogs. Please make sure you take any little parcels that your dogs may leave to the bins provided, as it is also a fantastic place to take the children where they can run free, climb trees, and there are also at certain times of the year rare breeds sheep grazing in some areas which is also great for the children, though please make sure your dogs are not able to bother or frighten any of the animals. Riddlesdown is a beautiful place with nature all around. Where you can run about take a walk through the woodland paths, or above on the old Croydon to caterham track way or just through the Grass with nature...

During the summer there is plenty of space for a picnic, and the views are wonderful. It’s a great place to watch a sunset! People always seem to be very pleasant and say hello, etc which is nice to see.
As per others reviews, two things which have somewhat disappointed me are the current construction works (which, whilst I’m sure are required, do detract from nature and the views at present); and the introduction of car parking fees. There is now a minimum £3 charge, which signs are at great lengths to point out are to cover “conservation projects”. I could see any detail of the projects this covers though - it would be nice to have a clear understanding and...
Read moreIt's a great area but totally marred at present. Firstly by a long term railway reconstruction two floor portakabin complex and the site heavy equipment being parked there plus floodlights all night. Now that is tailing off parking charges and meters have been introduced with a minimum £3 charge. This is outrageous and smacks of a desperate need to raise funds at the expense of the less able who are unable to walk up the massive hills to get to this amenity and so need to drive there to experience Riddlesdown's beauty...
