Whyteleafe recreation ground has:
a café (did not try it, yet) Toilet facilities (did not try this neither) Basket ball court Tennis court Children Playground Plenty of spaces for dogs and to simply walk Car parking An area with sport equipments -Many benches to seat on
Dogs are not allowed in the play area but it’s an open playground. The sand pit is great but we witness a child peeing inside it so beware.
Otherwise a great outdoor area to relax for everyone. There is a sign about barbecue not being allowed.

The play area was not busy during that particular visit (it was not very sunny) but on some other occasions it was, so it all depends when you plan to visit.
Parking is free but was told the area can be a bit rough so beware of that too. Never had an issue at Whyteleafe...

The hills above the playground lead to a far greater open space. This area is valuable chalk grassland leading up to woodland known as the Dobbin, grassy meadows, and the wider area known as the Sanderstead to Whyteleafe...
