Shearwater — Attraction in Longbridge Deverill

Lovely walk around Shearwater Lake full of big carp. Surrounded by so many beautiful trees including Douglas Fir, Norway Spruce and Giant Sequoia. There are so many different routes to take for a walk in the woods. Dogs can go off the lead once away from the lake. The charming tea room where you can have some hot food and cakes accepts dogs as well. PARKING. There is a car park which gets busy later in the day. Beautiful place to let the cobwebs air so too speak, lovely walks through the woods, and plenty of other people you'll meet along the way. Lovely little cafe, but the only downside is that it's very small inside and receives a lot of customs, plus not a great deal of seating in or outside. Plus, it would be really helpful if they could put better signage up to say order take aways here. I only say this as I ordered in the main cafe. Beautiful scenery, been visiting Shearwater regularly since childhood. Ideal for fishing, family days out and general rambling. There is also a woodland path from Shearwater to nearby Heavens Gate, approximately an hours walk away. The only downside when considering a longer day in these areas are a lack of on-site toilet facilities for those who may need them and accessibility through some parts of the woodland paths but overall this place has been well kept for years and has some lovely...
