Lovely walk around Shearwater Lake full of big carp. Surrounded by so many beautiful trees including Douglas Fir, Norway Spruce and Giant Sequoia. There are so many different routes to take for a walk in the woods. Dogs can go off the lead once away from the lake. The charming tea room where you can have some hot food and cakes accepts dogs as well. PARKING. There is a car park which gets busy later in the day. Lovely little cafe, but the only downside is that it's very small inside and receives a lot of customs, plus not a great deal of seating in or outside. Plus, it would be really helpful if they could put better signage up to say order take aways here. I only say this as I ordered in the main cafe. There is also a woodland path from Shearwater to nearby Heavens Gate, approximately an hours walk away.
