I can't recommend this place enough. I'd booked both courses for my 12 year old son and myself to do as a last bit of fun before school starts tomorrow and we weren't disappointed!! Although we had first morning nerves (more myself not my son) we arrived bright and early ready for our adventure. We were met by our instructor Harry who was really chipper. The other members of our team arrived and then we were off. After short introduction getting to know people we were putting on our harnesses and hard hats. Harry was brilliant helping and making sure they were on properly. We then had a short test of how to use the harness clips and how they lock onto the wire. Very simple to use yet extremely safe too! Afterwards we went down to the first quarry. Harry was extremely reassuring and so great at encouraging you even when you feel like giving up. He follows you on this course so is right by, which helps with the nerves! You gradually climb higher until you get to a wire bridge. Nerve wracking but once you do it, you do get a buzz! After a short break we got onto the big quarry and there's such a difference! You start down low and zig zag up the left side of the quarry. There are some tricky bits to and the course really pushes you and if like me you realise you need to be fitter! But it's such a really good activity and when you get to the top it's really worth it for the view. Even in the pouring rain it's beautiful and you'll see small frogs on the side of the quarry! Once at the top you'll get to the zip wire. This was scary (for me!) But once again with Harry as the wonderful instructor and the encouragement of the group I managed to do it! After all that physical activity ( I think a couple of hours) there's a wonderful cafe there serving up breakfasts to sandwiches and as you've done all that exercise, I think you should definitely try out one of their many cakes on offer as they were delicious!! In all, definitely push through any nerves you've got. You'll be in fantastic, reassuring hands of the instructors who won't let anything happen to you. Thank you to Harry for helping me have the confidence...
Read moreWhat a superb experience! 2 older teenagers and I tried full course(3 hours, £40) of climbing and zipwire. It looked low and easy to climb but I was shaking a bit at first.
Our instructor, Holy and Vivian, were professional, friendly and attentive.
Website says guardian needs to accompany kids under 18 but I saw 2 young boys by themselves. One instructor was attending them so patiently. One boy was quite scared but managed to finish the course with so much encouragement from instructors and participants.
There is nice sitting area for parents overlooking at all the activities with free wifi(haven't used it but we have been told) on site.
There were 2 sections. Lower staples and wire bridge on first course then we walked over to a lake and did more advanced level climbing and zipwire. My daughter was the first one to finish and reached zipwire area way ahead of people. We were supposed to ride zipwire twice per participant but she tried 5 times because it took a while until last participant reached the zipwire area. How lucky.
I regretted not bringing my phone in a case with lanyard. I thought about bringing my water proof case with sturdy lanyard but they strongly recommended not to bring anything that can be dropped. One participant lady brought her phone and tied around her wrist but flimsy cord snapped at the beginning of climbing so she couldn't take any photos.
I guess family members or friends can take photos from sitting area.
Another wonderful thing was how they help charity organisations by sharing some portion of their profit.
Overall it was such a fun activity and we would love to go back...

I recently had an exhilarating experience with Via Ferrata Adventures, and I can't recommend it highly enough! The 3-hour rock climbing and zip wire fun experience was an absolute blast. From the moment we arrived, the friendly and knowledgeable staff made us feel at ease, providing thorough safety briefings and ensuring everyone was equipped with the right gear.
Our instructor, Leah, was simply amazing! Despite being so young, she exuded confidence and expertise, guiding us through each step of the adventure with patience and encouragement. Her enthusiasm was infectious, making the experience even more enjoyable.
The rock climbing portion was both challenging and rewarding, with stunning views that made every ascent worthwhile. The routes were well-designed, catering to different skill levels, which helped build confidence while pushing us to our limits. The highlight, however, was the zip wire—soaring over the landscape was an adrenaline rush like no other! The combination of climbing and zip-lining created an unforgettable adventure that left me feeling accomplished and invigorated.
The beautiful surroundings added to the overall experience, making it a perfect day out for anyone looking to embrace the great outdoors. Whether you're an experienced climber or a complete novice, Via Ferrata Adventures offers a fantastic way to enjoy rock climbing and zip-lining in a safe and fun environment.
