My partner and I had just completed the Via Ferrata course (which was great fun). This cafe was recommended to us by a member of staff for their cakes. My partner has an eating disorder, so we brought our own sandwiches and drinks, but we decided to purchase their cakes to try. However as we started to eat our sandwiches, a middle aged lady came over and told us to leave the premises as we aren't allowed to eat our own food, despite buying the cakes from this cafe. Although we were still paying customers, I assume ÂŁ8.40 for their cakes were not a big enough spend for us to be eligible to sit inside of their cafe. I assume that eating disorders aren't taken into account at this cafe, or we would have not been asked to leave...

I did not want to embarrass my partner, so I did not argue and mention that she has an eating disorder infront of a room full of other customers, so we left the cafe as we were instructed to leave.

However if we were to have been forced to purchase hot food from this cafe to stay seated within the cafe, and my partner was to react badly to their hot food, due to an eating disorder, who would have been at fault and who would have been to blame?

We got made to leave, despite us both being paying customers. Unfriendly staff.

I assume I will get a sarcastic response...

Visited today for Mothers Day lunch. It was a last minute booking and even more last minute adding 2 extra people on but they were so accommodating and responsive. There were 7 of us and we had a wide range of food from the breakfast, mac and cheese, beef brisket, avocado on toast and it was all absolutely lovely! Service was quick although they were busy. Everything was presented nicely, wasn't as expensive as we thought and definitely worth the money! Other food was also being served to other customers that looked absolutely delicious so we are already looking at coming back sometime soon to try other stuff. The easter eggs are also very good priced, absolutely delicious and the staff members were so kind and helpful. It was absolutely service with a smile! Would recommend to anyone and we cant wait...

I went to The Cornish Barista and ordered a Chai Latte. My Chai Latte was soooo sickly sweet and tasted of sweeteners. I asked if the syrup used was sugar free and was told yes. I requested the Chai Latte to be replaced by a normal Latte as it really was awful. I was asked to pay for another Latte!!! I have never ever been asked to pay for another Latte when that was not drinkable. I was then told management would give me a second Latte at half price!! Omg!! Really? The chai Latte was awful. What happened to the customer is always right. They not only put in so much syrup that it just tasted of sweeteners, I was subjected to paying for another Latte because the first one was undrinkable. The staff might be very pleasant but management need to learn how to handle...

Food wise it was nice but perhaps not large enough, the avo on toast came with 2 slices of toast but only avo on half of one slice, and only half a mushroom on the breakfast seemed strange. Also loads of sprinkled salt on my breakfast which I'm personally not a fan of. Cakes are and always have been great though (had plenty of cakes delivered in lockdown). Will return in the summer for the cakes and view. The little back room by the till/kitchen isn't great for atmosphere. The whole building was cold but I can imagine in the summer with the blinds up the front seating would be lovely with a great view but in January it was definitely keep your coat on temperature. We went on a lovely little walk from the car park which the staff told us about with great views

Went today and was ordered 3 times to sit down rather than letting us look at the cakes etc! 10 mins wait for our drinks, the mug it was served in was filthy. If you’re using table service do it properly with numbered tables and making a note of who actually arrives first…we watched others get served before us. The cheesecake Easter egg looked nothing like the one in their pictures! Complained discreetly to the management who didn’t seem to care that we had a bad experience after supporting them for 4 years.Disappointing after driving over and usually having positive experiences, we won’t be back 👎*not after ‘freebies’ we have plenty of money and eat out all the time!!! Was just disappointed and am entitled to feel that way CB !!!

We popped in today as a family for a light bite and had such a lovely experience! The staff were all incredibly welcoming, and the relaxed decor made it easy to settle in. We even had some bonus entertainment watching the brave souls whizzing over the quarry on the zip wire—definitely adds to the atmosphere! The food was delicious—everyone, including the kids, enjoyed their meals. My avo on toast came with a perfectly runny poached egg (just how I like it). And I have to mention the coffee: not only did it taste fantastic, but the latte art was next level—just look at that swan! All in all, a brilliant spot for great coffee, tasty food, and a warm, friendly vibe. We’ll definitely be back!
