What an AMAZING place to hike! Some absolutely gorgeous scenery especially if you go to the top of the hill! We did have a few issues though. Some of the paths are not very well maintained. There are NO BINS whatsoever on the pathways, only around the cafe and car park so I spent most of the day carrying doggy do around with me. Even picked up a bag some inconsiderate dog owner had left on a bench! One of the reservoirs is private land for fishermen so you have to keep your dog out of there but we found another the dogs could swim in. The car park is only small but we had no problem parking as it wasn't very busy. Went in the cafe before we started our walk and were queueing for quite sometime despite only 2 people being before us. We ordered 2 coffees, a tea, a fruit shoot and a can of diet coke. Lady who served me was very pleasant and polite and said she would bring it to our table. We waited ages for the drinks and when they arrived she gave us ordinary coke. The brews were not very hot either. Cups were very small and prices quite expensive. 1 outside loo for each gender and 1 disabled. The ladies loo was very clean and tidy with plenty of loo roll but the hand drier was extremely slow. There are quite a few picnic benches near the car park but around the walks only ordinary benches and most with no back rest. I would not recommend this place for young children. It is not pram or wheelchair friendly on the walks and some of the paths are pretty hazzardous. We had 3 children with us aged 9, 11 and 12 and they loved it, especially when we got to the top of the hill. Could be more sign posts on...

One of the most gorgeous places I have had the pleasure to visit in the North of the UK.

Parking is cheap, the cafe is cheap and the area is just phenomenal.

We visited here on Sunday 25th August ; one of the hottest days in the UK and boy did we feel it! We didn't get chance to do the summit of Tegg's Nose itself for this reason, which was a shame, but we left feeling satisfied with our pedometer afterwards (to say the least!).

To that end, if you're coming for an easy/leisurely stroll, this may not be the place for you but it is definitely worth it to take in the the utterly postcard-picturesque views.

The only minor criticism from me is that I would have loved for there to be more signposting or information boards around that give a bit of historical insight as we had to Google a lot of it afterwards.

Would definitely visit here again and try to get to the summit...

We arrived at Teggs Nose late morning on a showery Sunday. The car park was already fairly busy but plenty of spaces remaining. We did a scenic walk down to the reservoirs and then back up to Teggs Nose and the car park. Lovely walk, beautiful views we were grateful for trees along the route down to shelter from the worst of the showers. The walk uphill from the reservoirs was very steep and prolonged uphill, we were certainly glad to be going up and not down that path. Lots of quarry equipment placed around the former quarry with information boards, which we found interesting. Once back at the car park, we were happy to use the facilities available - loos and takeaway drinks and snacks from the cafe, which we enjoyed on the picnic tables. By the time we were leaving mid-afternoon, the car park was much busier and cars had parked anywhere they could.

Lovely place, I'm glad we paid here a visit. We were passing through on our way down south and stopped for a short walk here. It cost us £1 to park in the car park for an hour. We walked to the old quarry equipment and to the summit, creating a lovely, short circular walk. Interesting place with plenty of information boards about the quarry equipment. There are plenty of stones scribed with Teggs Nose Country Park and similar. The country park seems really well looked after, and the visitor centre, though small, was worth a visit. There are also a few trails going through the country park, which can be followed, a milestone on the road outside the car park and a few viewfinders up on the high points of the hill. I'd recommend visiting here. Ideal for short walks, dog walks, and for walks with children.
