Fantastic place to visit if you like old buildings, interesting gardens and good views. This was our first visit, on the last open day of the year. There were several things that pleasantly surprised me 1) The very friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable staff who seemed genuinely happy to be there and to help. This was right from the entrance with a jolly young man welcoming and guiding you to the parking area 2) The cafe served nice, limited food and drinks at reasonable prices 3) The plants section at the exit was amazing value, again manned by lovely staff. 4) It seems you are free to wander everywhere apart from a small number of roped off areas, I hope the grass stands up to it in poor weather I hope this first season under the new owners is a success, we'd love to visit again in spring if they do decide to open earlier in 2026? It's a great place to visit for a couple of hours or more at a very competitive price (pre-booked).

Went here with a friend. It cost £7 each to get in.we were greated by lovely friendly staff who can tell you about the history of the place. The head gardener was walking about to answer any questions. You can view the house from the outside and look in some of the windows to the Chapel. The gardens are spectacular and very well keeped. We spent about 4 hours here and had lunch. I had a ploughman's and my friends had homemade quiche. Both were tasty and cost £9. Well worth the money. They also do lots of drinks, cakes and scones which all looked delicious too but was stuffed! They also sell plants as you come into the gardens which are from the ground. The price was from £3.50 to £5, so very reasonable. They take card and cash.Yes I did buy a few. I think most of the staff are volunteers and are very happy and helpful. Beeleigh Abby is only open on certain dates of the year so check before you go.

I only learned about Beeleigh Abbey this week. After years of visiting Maldon, I never knew it existed. It is a beautiful and peaceful place to visit. The gardens are a real joy to walk around. It is only open a few days a year. The next open day is the 6th September. If you have the chance to go, take the opportunity to spend time walking around the beautiful grounds. You will come away feeling calm and refreshed. A walk further down the lane will take you to Beeleigh Falls. Another tranquil walk through the dabbled shade of trees leading you to the banks of the canal and river.

Thank you Beeleigh, for a very special visit today. I'm delighted you are welcoming folk into your amazing gardens. So much progress has been made, and it was brilliant to hear about your future plans for such a special place. My sister Susan and I visited today and my other sister Penny and hubby Jeff were volunteering in the cafe. Wow! What a brilliant team of folk ! I apologise for not mentioning by name, but thank you from the bottom of my heart for making everyone feel so special. The food was awesome and everyone, including other visitors had big smiles on their faces. Brilliant! Well done and thank you so much....
