I’ve visited this park a few times now, and overall, I would describe it as average – with potential to become something much better in the future. At the moment, it serves its basic purpose, especially for people who enjoy open space, walking their dogs, or spending quiet time outdoors. However, if you're looking for a place to take children, it might not be the most exciting option right now.
The central feature of the park is a sports field, most likely used as a sports pitch or general recreation area. It’s surrounded by a few walking paths that make for a pleasant stroll, though they’re nothing particularly special. The park is also home to an area with fruit trees, rowan trees (also known as mountain ash), and various shrubs, which add a nice touch of greenery and a more natural atmosphere.
One of the coolest features – and definitely a highlight – is the presence of beehives. It’s not something you see often in urban or suburban parks, and it adds an educational and ecological aspect to the space, which I really appreciate.
There’s also a fairly large parking area on the side, which makes access easy for visitors arriving by car. Another noticeable aspect is the high number of dog walkers – it seems like a favorite spot for locals with pets.
That said, the park currently lacks proper children’s attractions. There’s either no playground, or it's very minimal – which makes it less appealing for families with young kids. From what I’ve heard, there are plans to build a new, larger playground, which would definitely improve the park’s appeal.
In summary: Right now, it’s okay – not bad, but not great either. It’s fine for dog walking and quiet nature time, but not ideal for kids until the playground is added. Looking forward to seeing how...

A notable feature of the park is its picturesque pond, which adds to the tranquil ambiance and offers a lovely spot for a leisurely stroll or a quiet moment of reflection. For families with children, the park includes a well-equipped kids' play area, providing ample entertainment for the little ones.
Conveniently placed benches are scattered throughout the park, offering comfortable spots to sit and dine while enjoying the beautiful surroundings. The park is also an excellent location for walking, with plenty of paths and trails to explore.
Another advantage is the free parking, making it easily accessible for visitors. However, it's worth noting that weekends can be particularly busy, so if you prefer a quieter visit, weekdays might be a better option.

Read moreCame here to photograph my granddaughter during cross country race trials, the track is ideal and we'll set out with, what I would call, gentle undulations. There were different year groups attending, and many great performances. The weather was damp and there was a very strong wind which only affected the runners when they were in the open areas of the race they were quite sheltered when in the woods. There is a cafe in the park, although it is quite a distance from the Cross country course start/finish, closer to the all-weather track. Good car parking but on busy event days it is on the field so on very wet days this could cause muddy problems and it would be helpful if the entrance was monitored...
