The Common is a great place for a walk. Dogs and bikes are also allowed. It is well maintained and feels very safe. The common is well signposted so you hopefully shouldn't get lost. There aren't any cafes or many large green spaces on the common so most people do not stop in one place whilst on the common. The majority pass through on foot. It does get muddy when it has rained so wear appropriate footwear. There are occasionally horses on there (never had a problem with one) so if you have a dog that tends to flip out at...

From late spring through summer, it's absolutely magical. You'll hear several species of warblers, you'll see deer if you're lucky, and there are some ancient oak trees worth saying hello to. Outside of those times, it gets very waterlogged, and even major paths (going by the OS map) are impassable unless you're in wellies. You're better off sticking to the eastern end (Bridleway 38 is pretty sturdy) or neighbouring Epsom Common (or Bookham, a bit...

If like me you do not like hot weather, and would still like to go for a walk or exercise, then the Common may suit your needs. You will be sheltered, most of the time, under tall trees from the direct sun. You can keep to the main pathways or venture into the woods. Good for all ages, mostly safe and to meet people with dogs who may or may not want to talk. Treat it as your own little place to get back to...

Very tranquil place and very safe to walk alone, with a friend or your dog. You can see cows, horses, lots of bugs and the flowers just keep changing from each season passing. You can ride your bike through the different paths and also ride a horse in selected areas too. Great ponds and trees you will pass and be sure to wear hiking boots if it rained yesterday. The mud can sink to considerable depths.

Lovely place to get lost in, you might stumble upon the river Rye, some cows, open grassy areas, huge ancient oak trees, or deer running across your path. Local people living here are very lucky to have this on their doorstep. I’ve been coming here for years and there’s always a new path I’ve not been down, to explore.

Large open area (oddly owned by the City of London despite being is Surrey) which is good for walking. However, there aren't many places to sit, and there is a private woodland in part of it which forces you to walk around it.
