I love the Brickworks and as a Nature Reserve it is Brilliant for all kinds of Wildlife. I go there for certain Butterflies that I don't see in my own area. The big spoil though is uncontrolled dogs barging into you and the place is covered in Dog Poo which you end up treding in. It's in the middle of the paths everywhere . It is a nature reserve and dogs should not be allowed there. Spending your time concentrating on where the Dog poo is and trying to avoid it which in the end you can't and tread in it really spoils your trip to this...
Read moreWe visited in late February so the grounds were a bit soggy! It has a beautiful main lake formed where clay was removed for brick making plus numerous smaller ponds. It's great that it's now a nature reserve and fishing area and it's clear that it will mature over the coming years. Efforts are being made to improve the scrubland surrounding the lake so we'll certainly keep an eye on the progress! It's a lovely circular walk around the lake with a few woodland paths. Read moreI loved this little place, I didn’t realise but it is more of a fishing lake than a walking place though it doesn’t matter, my mum and brother loved it and the vegetation is very healthy and broad at this time of year.
Only thing wrong was that it was a little difficult finding the car park as it is down a private road right at the end out of sight with no sign saying it’s there, however that is probably for the best as not many will...
