Caswell has a huge tide range, you can find it as an enormous wet sand expanse, or, at high tide, as two distinct coves with dry, warm, golden sand. A whole extra section of beach emerges at the eastern end at low tide, with small explorable sea caves, while at the west end, low tide will trigger climbers to enjoy the steep slab climbs. During the summer months the bay attracts a lot of visitors, with the modest car park often overwhelmed, there is also a bus service. In the winter it can be quite desolate and windswept. The bay is lifeguarded during the summer months, and is largely very safe to bathe, bodyboard, SUP, or surf. In the winter, the all weather wild swimmers brave the coldest of seas. Surfability Wales has its base here, bringing activity throughout the the year, along with the junior lifeguards, and school parties. There’s a sit in café, ideal for the cold days, and couple of takeaways for chips and ice creams. Municipal toilet facilities are well maintained as are external cold showers to clean off the sand. The Wales Coast Path wends it’s way around the back of the bay, bringing a whole new host of exploring parties, some organised, others just following their noses as they ramble toward Brandy Cove or Langland.

A great little beach. Dog friendly from 30th September. Great car park, although at £2.50 for one hour I did feel that it was a bit expensive. Coffee shop sold great coffee and snacks.

Beautiful beach, shame about the parking! We visited here on a hot Friday in August 2025. We arrived at 11am only to find that the car park was completely full, much to our disappointment. So we ended up parking at Langland Bay, spending the day there and then walking along the coastal path to visit Caswell Bay. The beach at Caswell is beautiful & large when the tide is out. Langland is a lot rockier in comparison. There’s a cafe and a shop that sells fish & chips, beach paraphernalia etc. The public toilets were large and quite clean. Will visit again but will arrive much earlier next time to get in the car park!

Hidden gem !! One of the most beautiful untouched beaches ive seen well worth a drive parking is limited near the beach so get there early as you may have to park further away and walk in. It isnt commercialised at all so dont expect an arcade. They have a lovely cosy beachside cafe with a log burner very nice to sit with a hot chocolate and watch the waves crash in dogs are welcome inside which i found refreshing. Water sports are popular here too with surfers. Also coastal paths take you up the rocks and give the most spectacular views popular for dog walkers check beach rules as regards dogs being on the beach certain...
