Standing proud at 475m above sea level, Bowscale Tarn is one of the easiest to access in the Lake District.
Situated in the North it's not as well known and relatively quiet in comparison to the others.
Ease of access has got to be mentioned here too because the tourist road to the top is well built and takes about 40 -50 mins.
Once there you can relax if you don't bump into a group of skinny dippers like I did.
Myself and 2 friends pitched tents for one night and had a really great night exploring around the tarn.
No disabled access.
Free parking at the bottom.
I didn't see one bit of litter and would love to see it stay that way.
