It's a tale of two halves this one. The 'show' where you get to watch some incredible birds fly was truly wonderful, I mean just magical. The lady we saw as the presenter had just returned from maternity leave and she was just brilliant, knowledgeable and cared about the birds.

I feel its important to note that many of the birds have been rescued and as such may not have been trained appropriately to facilitate an optimum life in captivity, whilst not having the skills to live wild, so you do need to keep this in mind. That being said, there is something undeniably sad about some of the small enclosures both for the birds and the reptiles and arachnids, but just like the rest of us, they can't magic up more space!

Everything was clean, the mazelike enclosures in general had appropriate perches and hiding spots, they even had a less than 1 month old falcon who looked very healthy, so they must be doing something right!

There is a little play park for kids, plenty of benches and a little cafe to help with the essential icecreams.

I'll be honest before we sat through the show, I thought the entry price was maybe double what it should be, but I loved the show so much...

In summary... I did enjoy the half day spent there and so did...

An absolutely brilliant day out. We came here after a recommendation and that our oldest loves owls and lizards. It's a great space with all the facilities you need. A café with decently priced food, you can get an ice lolly for less than a £1 here and the school cake was lovely! Toilets were clean and easy to access. Picnic tables with umbrellas, great for a sunny day or a drizzly day like ours was. The reptile room was very interesting, with really clean enclosures and close up views of the creatures. The birds were clearly well looked after. My personal favourites were the Bateleur Eagles; stunning. The highlight of the day was seeing the talks. If you've got a wriggly little one, one talk might be enough, but we went to all 4 and they were fantastic! Didn't catch the name of the guy doing all of ours on the day, but well done to him, busy day and the enthusiasm he kept for each talk was brilliant! Really excellent photo opportunities with the birds and our eldest got amazing close up views of the Great Grey Owl (his favourite). The play area was lovely, The picnic play area has recently been reworked, and it seems there is more renovation work taking place too. Great day out for the whole family, will definitely be...

Had a lovely day visiting this centre with our boys aged 6 to 12. On arrival the staff was welcoming and so friendly which remained the same throughout the day. Was saw the reptiles and kids enjoyed looking at all the owls and raptors and you can see they are looked after very well. We arrived at 10am and left just before 3pm but could have easily stayed until the end. Kids loved the play area and sandpit especially. Cafe is stocked up well with lunchtime assortments.like sandwiches, snacks and lovely cakes. Plenty of drinks to choose from and hit drinks are served in pottery cups which is such a nice homely touch. Walk around the park with a mug looking at reports and owls. Love it! Field displays were great and get up close to the raptors and owls. They can fly low over you head which is amazing. Very informative when talking during the displays. Overall... Five star! Some people write reviews saying run down etc.... so wasn't sure what to expect but for a charity they are investing and you can see this. Please come and support and have a wonderful family day. Thanks to all at Liberty!

We returned in 2025 and lovely new modern play park and seating areas updated and the same AMAZING experience as before. Staff are...

Wasn't overly sure what to expect from our visit, and when we got to the car park I was slightly concerned, especially as there was only a couple of other cars there! I was also a bit worried how much my 2 yr old would get out of it, especially when I had to pay close to £10 (per adult) for entry. We went straight to look at the birds, there were far more than I first thought. The flyjng display was particularly good despite one of the owls not wanting to go anywhere. The reptile area we sped through and no where near as large as the bird area. The site itself was a bit tired looking but you can see that they are trying to keep on top of maintenance etc. Toilets available on site as well as a cafe. Our little one also enjoyed playing in the sand pit for a while (as did I - pic included of our masterpiece!) We managed about 2 hours (perhaps just over) and I think our young 'un helped to stretch this out with his sand play and general running about! If you love birds of prey you will likely really love this place otgerwise I wouldnt expect a full day out. (It is worth noting that you can leave and come back later for the show - there just isnt anything immediately close by to do, to then come back again...!)
