What a wonderful and emotional experience we had at Longdown Activity Farm! From the moment we arrived at 10 am, we were immersed in a world where nature and animals take centre stage.
Our day began with the unique opportunity to feed the cows, an unforgettable moment for my 15-year-old daughter and me. After that, we fed the calves with bottles—a tender and heartwarming experience that completely won us over. From then on, the day was a whirlwind of animals: goats, chicks, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs, horses, donkeys, cats... We even got to cuddle the kids (young goats) and hold newly hatched chicks in our arms! Every moment was pure magic.
What impressed us the most was the close interaction we had with the animals. We were allowed to feed and pet them, something you don’t find everywhere. My daughter and I, being animal lovers, enjoyed every second, and although we were there for hours, time simply flew by.
The tractor ride was a fun addition, though it felt a bit short because we just wanted to keep spending time with the animals. The information provided in the brochure is excellent, with a detailed map of the farm that guides you through every corner. Although there was a café area and a playground for younger children, we didn’t even think about stopping—we were completely captivated by the beauty of every creature we met.
This visit left such a deep impression on my daughter that she has decided to volunteer at the farm during her holidays, and we are already planning our next visit. Longdown Activity Farm is undoubtedly a place where time is filled with smiles, affection, and a unique connection to nature. Moreover, the price of £12.50 for those over 14 years old is more than reasonable for such an enriching experience.

Read moreWe had a great afternoon out at this farm! The 3 adults & 3 kids (ages 4-7) all had a lovely time! We were lucky to see lots of the incredibly cute baby animals - bunnies, Guinea pigs, chicks, ducklings, piglets and more. The kids particularly enjoyed the interactive elements of the farm. They held some chicks, stroked guinea pigs and fed some baby goats with bottles. There were no eggs to be collected, but they enjoyed seeing the chickens too. The various peddle go karts/tractor toys, trampolines and play park equipment for the kids also went down well! The tractor ride was a favourite for all our group - bumpy and great fun! This is limited to those without any medical conditions where a bumpy ride could cause complications. We took a packed lunch so I can't comment on the cafe much (though the coffee was nice!), but there are plenty of places to sit and eat (primarily picnic benches). The toilets were clean enough given it is a farm. I also noted a changing room for larger kids/those with a disability which looked to be clean and in good condition. There is a farm shop on site (we didn't use this) and some animals can be bought (indeed one of the group came home with a Guinea pig). We all had a lovely visit and would definitely go back for another...
Read moreLONG REVIEW BUT USEFUL INFORMATION 😊 It was such a lovely day and so nostalgic for me, i hadn't been here for 25yrs, since I was a child and it was so nice to be able to relax, spending time with animals, taking part in bottle feeding, handling animals, and learning new things. The calfs were particularly funny as they were rather greedy slurping on their bottles. We took our own drinks, but called in to the tea room for a snack, I had a sausage roll, my partner had a cheese & pickle roll, both of which were tasty, well made, and to be honest, of good quality too. The total we spent on food was £7.50 as we added pringles as well. Please see photos for food and cute animals. We visited Monday, 24th June 2024, arrived at 10.30am, we booked online before hand (but we didnt really need to as there was no queue, but i would advise it in the holidays) we had no wait to get in, and it wasn't particularly busy, a couple of small school groups. Plenty of handwashing stations, animals looked clean and happy. After all, it's a farm, not a 5-star hotel, so you expect a bit of a mess, ie poop etc. All animals looked clean and well fed, I don't understand a lot of negative comments about this place. Would recommend to friends with young children. Staff kind,...
