We called in today in search of a nice meal and found it at this very welcoming pub. The outside was well lit and decorated and is obviously well cared for. We had the choice of almost any of the tables in the restaurant area with only a couple of the other tables occupied. This is a great pity because if we all continue to avoid such lovely places they may not be available in the future. After signing in on a form near the entrance we went to the bar. We received a friendly and warm welcome and after ordering drinks at the bar they were delivered to our table. The menu is rather limited but there was enough of a choice for us. I chose the forest burger with chips and salad and my wife had fish and chips. Both were served quickly and were perfectly cooked. My burger was obviously home made and delicious and the salad had a good variety of fresh ingredients. The fish was a little thin and seemed to have been once frozen rather than being fresh and was a little disappointing but the batter was tasty and everything else about the meal was perfect. Although we did not have any of our grand dogs with us the place was very dog friendly and this lead to several interesting conversations all at a safe social distance. If you are passing pop in this is a pub we cannot...

At first all seemed good. New ownership lady at the bar seemed friendly. We ordered starter, main and drinks.

Our mains got brought out and I questioned that we still hadn’t had our starters. Got told yes. Next minute the rest of our mains got brought out. Still haven’t had our starters. So I questioned again we haven’t had starters yet. They then proceeded to bring our starters out after filling our table with our main meals. Had let this slide and gave benefit of the doubt that it was new ownerships and getting used to the roles.

Once we started to eat our mains it come to our intention quite quickly that the burgers we had been served were still raw in the middle. I went straight in and asked if they could be cooked more as my little girl was also eating this. Whilst up at the bar ordering more drinks the waitress took the two burgers back out to my little girl and partner and told them it was cooked and left. All we wanted was the burgers to be cooked more not be brought back out and told they are cooked!! Poor hospitality. And rude staff at the end when we wasn’t happy! Got told by another member of staff we should of spoken to her. Baring in mind we had already spoken to 2 people about we wasn’t happy with the undercooked burgers!! Would...

Absolutely lovely autsanding choise to spend a great relaxing time with the children and even your loved pets!!

Outdoors providing a large green area with a slide, the kids had a blast, running around and playing!!! Lots of fun!!! Children loved seeing 2 horses around the back on another property field.

Confy settings too, you won't wanna leave!!

As for the food ,menu has plenty to choose from, and they went for cheese burger with fries!!! Absolutely delicious, way more than they could eat 😁 a juice and ice-cream as a complementary treat!!! What else can we ask for...nothing at all!!! 😁👏

Social distance is not a concern as all tables had lots of space in between.

It goes without saying but needs to be emphasise as all staff members were polite, friendly and attentively to any requests!!! The team working on the afternoon we visited was spot on,and couldn't leave with a better impression!!! Thank you so much and well do to you all!!!

Less but not least th menu prices are affordable and competitive.

Undoubtedly we will be in more often!!!

Keep up the autsanding customer service with such delicious...

A chalet-style pub on the south side of the A35, some way east of Ashurst village. The rustic-style interior is split into two by a large brick double-sided fireplace, with a large lounge bar to the right and a raised stone floored eating area to the left that has clearly seen better days. Although on thr Cask Marque Ale Trail the front of house knew little of it. The certificate was nowhere to be found and the outgoing manager, when finally called, had heard something but didn't know or seemed to care. The only available was IPA was mediocre at best
