I recently played a round at this golf course, and to say it was a disappointing experience would be an understatement. Despite several dry days leading up to my visit, the course was still embarrassingly waterlogged in multiple areas, particularly along the paths connecting holes. The mud was unavoidable, and there was no apparent effort from the staff to address it, no gravel, no drainage improvements, nothing. It felt like they’d simply given up on keeping it playable.

The greens were in an even sorrier state. They were patchy and poorly maintained, with one green sporting a massive hole or divot, I couldn’t tell if it was from an animal or another player’s carelessness. Either way, it was a glaring sign of neglect. Speaking of neglect, we scoured the course for a ball cleaner and only found one, which was completely dry and useless. It’s baffling how a course can skimp on such basic amenities.

Litter was another eyesore. Litter was scattered around various holes, making it clear that upkeep isn’t a priority here. On top of that, there were so many mole hills dotted across the course, completely unattended to, that it felt like playing on a forest course rather than a proper golf layout. The course seems to rely heavily on robot lawnmowers buzzing around, but that’s no substitute for human attention. Golf courses need regular, hands-on maintenance, and this one is severely lacking in that department. This is a huge shame because we’re local and were genuinely excited about the prospect of signing up as members. With proper care, this place could have been our go-to spot, but as it stands, I won’t be rushing back, unless contact is made or serious changes are...

Poor poor state of a course. most of the front 9 is unplayable ( I quit after front 9) 5th hole is best of the lot. Considering how wet the course is they were out spraying the greens and leaving filthy great tyre impressions across them. I know we’ve had bad weather since Xmas but considering there’s a decent fall on most fairways water is just sitting on the fairway as either no drainage or it’s not working, it’s like walking through a swamp in places. Considering 3rd green is elevated there’s a pond in the middle of it I mean if you can’t get rid of water from an elevated green then seriously there’s no hope for the course. I’m a midweek member and to say I regret joining is a total understatement it’s prob worst decision I’ve made for many years this is the 1st year that I won’t get value for money if I was paying monthly I’d cancel my payments and go elsewhere, even in the summer months course has been pretty poor (compared to west wellow and Romsey). I’ve used the range twice and won’t use it again ( I travel the extra distance to Winchester golf academy now) as the guy is rude that was there both times and didn’t want to be there by his attitude. Driving range - wet - grumpy staff member Summer months Bunkers - gritty and stony (wouldn’t play out of unless you want scraped clubs) Fairways - not consistent in there cuts Greens - poorly treated and mossy/weedy Today 3-1-24 Fairways - wet/muddy swamps Bunkers - new ponds Greens - wet/ tyre marks/ wellington boot imprints

Sorry for the bad review but there’s something seriously wrong here at the course, it used to be such a lovely place to play and...

We drove up from bournemouth today and have to say after paying £75 for a 3 ball really wasn’t impressed. I didn’t want to have leave a bad review so after the round I asked to speak to the manager who’s response was poor / unacceptable. Initially he said well it will be on your booking that the course will be in poor condition which we checked and couldn’t see anything. No signs up at the course to which he said well it’s normally £33 a round and you got it for £25. No mention of this when paying. We have played Paultons before and was in reasonable condition but this time uncared for and considering lots of courses are in mint condition, this work should of been done during covid lock down. The bunkers that were playable had minimal sand, the greens were like temporary,s and grass cuttings everywhere. (See pics). I gave the manager the opportunity to refund or a voucher to return and no just offered us to play it again at £25 per head which in my opinion today is like a starter course. To say we were disappointed with the course and the customer service is an understatement the pictures below will speak for themselves …. VERY POOR Paultons don’t waste your money ...

Very disappointed today. We were told the greens had been treated before playing - but having played 18 holes it’s questionable if the course should even be open in the current condition. Tees look like they’ve been battered through the winter (although it looks like they have winter mats?) and the greens have been tined and sanded, but when was the last time they were cut?! I’ve shared some close-ups of the greens - barely playable. This course is not value for money, and has fallen from Grace since the last time I played around 5 years ago. I will not be returning.

Last minute booking at Paultons,,,I’m a newbie,,,, my brother has just started to play again after a long lay off,, and had played Paultons 15 years ago,, Personally I found the course great,,,I wasn’t being killed due to my relative short drive game,,, and pitching on to the greens from 70 yards felt interesting,, Tricky greens etc,,,, condition of course was 7/10,,,,,staff were friendly,,,,, girls in the bar and the shop pro,, very welcoming 👍 I would go again tomorrow ,,,, many thanks
