A National Trust property, free admission to the extensive grounds, just £2 for 4 hours in the carpark for non members. Plenty of fun for dogs and children even in the muddy conditions when we last visited: on a sunny day it's a great place to be. There's room for all, very unstressful! Good cafe, smashing shop for preloved books and an eco products shop (limited opening hours). Plus an interesting crafts/gift shop which also sells timber off cuts ready for lathe turning or other projects; anyone interested in wood working will find this fascinating. They were absolutely beautiful full of history and intrigue. Appareny Dr Who was filmed there too. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming.
