Extremely disappointing experience. Visited the strawberry farm in Graveley on Saturday (28th June 2025) after they posted on Facebook that they were open for picking—but when we arrived, we were told it wasn’t open until the next day. We weren’t the only ones; lots of families had turned up based on the same misleading information.

The most serious issue; there was no shade or shelter whatsoever! They had a proper gazebo last year, but this time it had been taken down and there was nothing! Staff told us the parasols that were suppose to be on each table had been taken down because they kept blowing away—so absolutely no sun protection for families, toddlers or babies in the scorching heat. Why take down a perfectly good built gazebo that's not going to blow away, for pathetic parasols thay dont di the job?! It looks like the whole area has been downgraded (in fact, it has)!

It’s not just poor organisation—it’s a serious health and safety concern. Families should not be put in a position where they’re at risk of heatstroke just by visiting a farm.

Won’t be returning unless they make serious improvements to both their communication and, more importantly, their facilities!

To add to this, I get this shocking post from the owners below! There were several families there complaining about it and specifically complaining to the guy who drives the tractor about this! I also witnessed 2 other women mentioning it to the staff serving in the café, to which the staff didn't offer any reply! Checking my facts is not necessary, as I and other customers were givdn the same impression "that you were open gor picking today"! The response of this shocking establishment puts in to perspective how much care they have for their customers and how rude they are of you ever have a complaint that needs dealing with! To top it off, they didn't even address the other very serious part of the complaint, or apologise for the lack of safety at their farm! There lack of care and responsibility has now widely opened the door to a higher authority to investigate. You never know who your customers are, so having lack of professionalism in your response - and publicly - probably isn't the smartest move...

We have visited this site and found it to be brilliant. The staff and the owner work so hard all year round to allow us to pick the delicious fruit. I've read some of the comments on here and can not belive that people think it's ok to pick the fruit and eat them before going to the pay kiosk. Then if a member of staff approach you and tell you not to eat them they are given a bad review. Would you go to a supermarket and open there packets of food and don't pay for it, no, it's called stealing. How would people feel if you spent 7 months setting up crops, feeding them, nurturing them and working round the clock to produce such amazing fruit only for certain people to pinch them, I'm sure you would be pretty angry about it. This is there lively hood, they all work hard,to open there farm for the public to go and have a wonderful day out. I highly recommend this farm and it's perfect for the children as they put on tractor rides and have a little park to play on and also some piglets to look at. Please don't be put off by the minority of people who think it's ok to steal and then bad mouth the farm because a member of staff told them it's wrong to eat the fruit before they pay for it. We will be coming back and we will be recommending this to our family and friends. Keep up the good work gravely fruit farm so us the general public can enjoy a lovely day out. To the owner and staff thank you for making us feel so welcome and for all your hard work....

Our first visit to the farm's open air, drive-in cinema. Weather was showery but the crew and lads who own the facilities were well equipped to handle that. Despite the strong breeze, the large, inflated screen was stable and the projected image was both bright and had enough contrast. On arrival we were issued in-car (Bluetooth) speaker and instructions. This had plenty of volume, but was slightly out-of-sync with the speakers either side of the screen - causing an echo effect. This wouldn't be an issue for anyone a few rows back from the screen, but we were right at the front. However, we didn't need the in-car sound! - Those big speakers were doing a great job and offered a lot more base, so we simply switched it off and enjoyed the show.

We saw 'Back to the Future' and there are many other classic films being screen including Dirty Dancing. Checkout their website for future screenings.

To keep you entertained while waiting for the sun to set, you can (when in season) pick your own strawberries, play crazy golf, visit the cafe or, as we did, just take a walk around the farm. Popcorn, sweets & a Pizza van will keep away the munchies or you are welcome to bring your own picnic with chairs or blanket. Sensibly, the organisers do not allow cinema-goers to bring pets, so nothing other than the odd plonk accidentally turning their lights on, will interrupt your viewing pleasure. And, a pleasure it was! We...

Really pleased we have this not too far from where we live. It's a very cheap, charming and sweet day out, as the farm is free to access. Car parking is ample, you can play in the small playground or sandpit for free, there's lovely food at the cafe and for a small fee, you can play mini golf, jump on the giant pillow or race around the mini track. The best thing is that you're probably also leaving with a large quantity of some of the nicest fruit you can imagine. Picking our own was a very fun experience for my kids & I, which you can do with your own container or ones provided. My advice: to find the best fruit (when we visited in June, we had strawberries; raspberries due in July), go in between the walkways and look underneath the growing troughs. We left with a huge container for £7. The lovely owner/staff member we spoke to was really helpful and warm.

I visit this place at least once a year with my daughter (now 6), and we love it. Picking strawberries, feeding the pigs, and then having a little drink and snack whilst playing in the park or sandpit really makes a nice afternoon out. There's plenty of parking and toilets on site. They've recently added covering to the benches, so to give some shade on hot days, which for a little change has made a big difference for the better. 2 things that would make me visit more often would be if the prices of food/drink came down a bit, £1-£1.20 would be a more reasonable price for a cookie. Or 4 mini gingerbreads for £1. Not 50p each. Some added shade by the play park and bounce balloons. With everything above in account, this is a place I would recommend, I wish I could afford to go more often.
