Popped in on the off chance of getting a table on our way back from the Fruit Farm .The staff were very friendly and accommodating given how busy they were . We were warned there was a little wait for food , which wasn’t long at all and when it arrived the food was absolutely delicious, the portion size was very generous and beautifully fresh and well presented ! Cost was very surprising too , very reasonably priced which makes a refreshing change . The place also felt very cosy and welcoming , would definitely recommend! 👍

Wonderful service! Emailed and booked a table less than 24hrs before. Travelling down from the north so couldn't give an exact time. Not a problem. We were greeted with such a friendly welcome. Quickly served. The pub was very busy, still had a great atmosphere. Delicious food, good portion size and a reasonable price. Plenty of choice on the special board. Lovely beer garden round the back. Thankyou, 5 stars from us xx

We loved the location and the garden! Arrived here on a Monday afternoon, starving, after one day on the road. The weather was pleasant, the ducks in the pond next to the pub friendly. Food was fantastic and beautifully presented! We loved the bacon, liver and veg dish and the smoked salmon and prawns salad. Prices are good value, staff very friendly... I would recommend it if you are in the area.

Went here for a family lunch today, “Oh Wow” it was fabulous! My sister & I had steak & Ale pudding with mash & fresh steamed vegetable’s & homemade Gravy, it was so tasty, meat was succulent & melted in your mouth. My sister in law & niece had scampi & chips, it came with fresh lemon wedges. They said it was really tasty. We were so full we didn’t have dessert, but the choice looked delicious.

Highly recommended this pub for real home cooked fantastic meals. For a Thursday lunchtime evening table was busy, our table was reserved for a group after we left. That’s when you know a place is good to eat.

Next time, I’m going back for Sunday Lunch. Staff are so lovely & helpful, they couldn’t have done any more for us. Prices are really reasonable too. Please try it, I’m sure you’re love it as much as we did!

Went again to this pub for a Sunday lunch with my husband, absolutely excellent as my meal here weeks before I had roast beef, with Yorkshire pudding & seasonal vegetables. Roast potatoes & parsnip & I ordered a side of cauliflower cheese. Beautifully cooked, plenty of beef really succulent, vegetables were freshly steamed & very cheesy cauliflower cheese just perfect. My husband had roast chicken which was delicious as well. Very reasonably priced, everything was homemade with rich gravy. We will be returning very soon.

Update - They now have a great...

Amazed this place is still open with such poor service and food.

I had a poor meal here about 6 months ago where they managed to mess up a chicken burger.. however a family event led me here again today.. Pre ordered food arrived within 3 seconds of sitting down - we were told in advance we could order starters on the day.. apparently not. Then with our food already on the table we were told by a sniggering millennial that all drinks had to be ordered at the bar - 10 minutes later we get to the front of the queue and we get further scoffed at.

Return to our now cold food and discover that the beef burger is literally a burger between two buns.. I didn’t want to risk a chicken burger again but thought a beef burger would be slightly more involved than a patte and two pieces of bread.

No offer of sauces, food cleared up whilst half of us are still eating.. if you want another drink up you go to the bar and hopefully one of the kids will serve you.

Even paying them was a trauma.

All in all service is nowhere near good enough and food leaves a lot to be desired. In this day and age and with so much quality competition locally I’m amazed this place survives. They won’t get a third...

Went there for Sunday lunch and booked and told they give time slots and ours was 12 till 2pm. Arrived at 12.05. We bought drinks and ordered food at the bar by 12 .25. then waited until 1.10 for the food to be served. Only one person bringing the food out so by the time he had bought out 6 meals and 2 portions of cauliflower cheese it was getting on for 1.25. Ate our food and ordered ice cream for my grandson and as he was eating eat told that they needed the table so rushed out. The food was good the person serving was good but if you are going to give time slots make sure you can get the food out quickly. I assume this is done to get more people in. if so get more staff to get the food out. Also you order from the bar which saves staff and if there are people at the bar ordering drinks and food this takes time. As I said the food was good but not sure I want to go back and be in a hurry...
