We Had a lovely afternoon walk around Tandle Hill Country Park today. The kids had a great time exploring the woodland trails, plenty of space to run around, climb, and discover little hidden spots among the trees. After a good wander, we stopped off at the playground areas, which were well-maintained and had a nice variety of equipment for different ages.
There’s a charming little café near the entrance where you can grab toasties, ice creams, and a selection of hot and cold drinks. It’s a great spot to take a break and refuel, especially if you’ve been walking for a while. The staff were friendly and the service was quick.
Parking was easy there’s plenty of space, and it’s free, which is always a bonus. We spent a couple of hours here and could easily have stayed longer. Some parts of the park are so peaceful, especially deeper into the woods, where you can just sit quietly and listen to the birds and rustling leaves. It’s a lovely escape from the hustle and bustle.
Highly recommend for families, walkers, or anyone looking for a bit of fresh air and nature. We’ll...
Read moreThere is a small free car park and when that gets full there is plenty of on-street parking right next to the car park. The cafe on site had a toilet block which on first inspection was closed, but opened later on when we were there. Next to the cafe is an excellent little play area that the kids can play on whilst you chill out on the picnic benches. There is a nice walk that appears to have many routes around. On the way there is a great aerial rope adventure play area, this is probably for kids aged 8+ but there are some points that the kids needed help on and one of those points was out of reach to anyone but the 7 foot plus people that I can only assume must be there frequently. The walk takes you to a view point with a war memorial on the top of the hill. It can get steep and there are a lot of steps, but for most it would be accessible. The view is worth it. We could see Oldham, Manchester and Rochdale as it was a clear day. Beautiful scenery. Would be excellent for mountain biking too as there are many trails...
Read moreNice park to have a walk, jog ,walk the dog,or a bike ride. It's not huge but there's plenty of different routes to go down so depending on how energetic your feeling you could be there for just an hour or several, there's a map at the entrance which I suggest you take a picture of as there's no more in the park. Some areas have tarmac paths but there's muddy paths too so depending on the time of year it might be quite muddy. There's a good little hike up to a war memorial with fabulous views around Manchester , it's nice to sit on one of the benches up there and just breathe and take it all in.The park only has a little car park but it's free . There is a cafe and toilets but everytime I've been they've both been shut so take your own drinks and food! It's a nice clean park with seating areas and benches throughout. There's a little playground area for kids next to the cafe that kids look to enjoy. The park is situated in an area that has plenty of shops and plenty of pubs to go and eat, some of them are also...
