This is a beautiful part of Wimborne that we have been coming to for about 30yrs, watching it develop & change into what it now is. The addition of the main car park allows many more to enjoy this easy access area suitable for the whole family. People have mentioned jumping off the bridge, there was a huge concrete block under the water (not sure if still there) & there are other unseen hazards which could make this activity extremely dangerous. It is up to the individual/parent/guardian to make the call as if its safe to jump but I personally wouldn't recommend it. There is plenty of wildlife to be seen here including Kingfishers, otters ,Egrets, Herons and Roe deer. I can thoroughly recommend getting there early morning if you want to catch the wildlife and a lovely sunrise from the...

There’s a continuous chorus of birdsong as you stroll towards the bridge with the distinct echoing sound of woodpeckers amongst the tallest trees.
The Riverbank by the bridge itself is great for catching sticklebacks in a jar or watching your four legged friend doggy paddle in the endless pursuit of ball or stick...
Even better is to continue over the bridge and across the meadow to the Lamb’s Green for lunch - this makes a perfect round trip but do watch out the young bulls in the field- they can be a little...
