The Thomas Shop is an uncurated recreation of a vintage shop. It's difficult to place the dates since the collection is so varied in its objects. The shop is part of a lived in large house on the main road into Rhyader from the Kington direction. The owners make delicious coffee and cake, which is a huge bonus. This isn't really a museum since there is little to no interpretation and the owners are doing their best to keep the displays alive by themselves. There were some interesting packaging examples, and some great Lever Brothers historical advertising that I'm sure the Port Sunlight Trust would love to have. Its a really interesting visit, and the owners deserve support. Eat the great cakes and a large mug of coffee.

Astounding place! Wow what a find, we stopped here for lunch, it's amazing! Really interesting place, extremely historic shop (see my photos) which is a museum piece and a MUST SEE. Excllent food freshly made and best enjoyed in the riverside garden. Great service, great feeling, great owners and great place. If I could leave more stars I would, it really is that good! A winner 🏁 Update 26/7/19 Visited again yesterday, still loving this place, we bring friends here who visit us now as well!

Adorable museum little shop stuck in 1900. Def worth a visit on the days when open (not on Mon, Tues or Wednesday) (except bank holiday Mondays). They have a quaint little tea room with the most delicious home made cakes that are a must to taste! We tried the Bakewell tart which was the most delicious tart I have ever tasted😍 and a white brownie that was also a real taste sensation.

We found the Thomas Shop completely by accident on our way home on Saturday, needing to stop for a break and a cuppa on a long journey. We were amazed at the array of delicious cakes on display and warm welcome we received, we sat by the river in the sunshine, with a huge pot of tea, eating delicious warm Welsh cakes ||Such a fantastic place, full of interesting items, we had a good chat with the owner who explained the history of the building. I havent stopped thinking about it since we got home, and would love to return if we are in the area again. I hadn't realised it was a B and B, and would love to stay sometime, I would recommend it to anyone - definitely a...
