A real hidden gem, completely off the beaten track (literally, a good mile walk down steep & rocky path), but well worth it because the beach is unspoilt and picturesque. It's a mixture of sand & shingles, with almost clear water (you'd almost think you were in the Med, if it wasn't for the freezing water!) It's a great for snorkelling too, but try to plan for a sunny day if possible! Can...

Beautiful cove and strata, great for swimming, heavy going of about 3/4 mile down to the beach from National Trust car park (meter out of action, as members left note with details), hard 3/4 mile slog back up the valley, great for kids with ropes and wood (see saw) to climb on path. Don't attempt unless your a mobile person. The bench halfway donated for Beth was a godsend on the...

One of a series of beautiful coves along this part of the coast, accessible only by foot (or kayak) with a 300 foot steady climb back up to the village and National Trust car park. Go out of season where there is good beachcombing to be had, unfortunately in these days that includes a increasing amount of sea plastic. Bring a bag and take some home for...

A beautiful little beach with a waterfall, stream (and a cave at low tide!) It's shingle with lots of seaweed so no sandcastles but lots of fun to be had all the same. The walk down has simple wooden play equipment to keep the kids motivated back up the (steep!) hill. National Trust car park at the top of the hill & it's just off the SW coast path.

A lovely little cove. A 20 minute walk from the road along a gorgeous woodland path. Shingle beach and clear water. Very pleasant swimming, which is sheltered. A nearby freshwater waterfall. Steep sides, so shade on hot days. On the coastal path.
