Beautiful sights but my gosh, it's a really steep trek in some places. There's about three massive hills that you literally ascend and descend over. Some have steps, some don't and they're literally 45° steep. On a hot day, there's little in the way of shelter or shade, so if you're taking the coastal path from Lansallos to Polperro (and back) as we did, bring plenty of water, snacks and sun protection. Sign posts are pretty sparse, so you'll need to use a phone app to navigate. The beach at Lansallos is gorgeous btw. Not sand, more like teeny tiny pebbles but it's really beautiful and perfect for a nice cool dip at the end of a challenging hike.

Nice beach very hard underfoot though as it consists of shale and quartz. But if you overlook that it's a very clean beach as regards to rubbish. Unfortunately there are a lot of tiny plastic bits which I picked up while looking for sea glass. It's very picturesque with a very pretty waterfall up the back of the beach. We stayed just up from this little beach nice to be able to walk to. If your feeling like a bit of a trek you can walk to polppero and looe. The views are amazing. Were going to Devon next year as we like to find different places every holiday. But Cornwall is a beautiful country to visit and one day we may go back.

This is a quaint little hamlet, with excellent walks down to the beach and back. The beach itself is lovely, being an enclosed cove with a narrow sea channel. Sadly, at low tide, there was not a great deal of swimmable area, as the channel is rocky, and we didn't find a way out to open water. (High tide would be better, with a sheltered pool) When we were there the bay seemed popular with dog owners. We like dogs, but if you find being investigated by unsupervised animals unpleasant then this may not be for you.

Lansallos Beach (also known as West Coombe) is a quiet, attractive, south facing cove of sand and rocks just a few miles west of Polperro. There is a small waterfall on the western side of the beach known as Reed Water which used to power a small mill.

Access - There is a National Trust car park in Lansallos village (free to members) with footpath access to the beach from beside the church. It's around a 20 minute walk down  a delightful track, beside the stream with activity points for children. Other paths lead from the National Trust campsite at Highertown Farm, across the fields and...
