This is one of the best spots in South Wales. The beach is beautiful and sandy with some pebble areas. Rock pools form here making it a great spot for exploring. The beach is quite exposed to the wind making it ideal for surfing, paddle and body boarding. It's also great for kite flying! Lifeguards are active and there are flags showing where you can swim or do water sports safely. The water is beautifully clear. They've opened the surf school now so you can hire boards and wet suits as well as book lessons. Currently during to Covid-19 the coffee shop is only doing take away but I can't wait for it to officially open! There are a few public toilets and showering facilities as well. There is also ample parking and plenty of grass verges for lounging around on. It's one of our favourite spots and one we go back to again and again. Highly...

Definitely our favourite beach to visit, there's always a breeze and hours of fun. When the tide goes out, and it goes out a very long way, it reveals a vast sandy beach popular with tourists and locals..

Clambering over the rocks is fantastic fun and highly recommended. There's plenty of rock pools to explore and with a few tricks you'll find some crabs.

The Surf School appears to be very popular with regular sessions. It's reassuring to have lifeguards as the waves are great fun and popular with surfers.

The old cafe at the top of the hill is due for demolition but promises to be revived some time in the near future. The nearest Coffee and Ice Cream is from the container Coffee Box Co at the far end of the pay and display car park where there's also public...

I love visiting Rest Bay, usually in the evening after the hoards have left in the Summer. The coastal path takes you from the sandy areas to a more rugged coastline . The beach at Rest Bay is exposed when tide turns to low and is great if you want to take the kids but want to avoid the shops rides etc at ths pleasure beach area. When the tide turns the beach is covered so you have to be aware or your beach towels etc will get wet as you try to escape the encroaching tide. The Surf Centre at the Car Park is vastly improved as are the toilets . However, they could do with a little more attention on busy days . Hand sanitiser is available even before you reach the buildings and again at the Centre. All in all a lovely spot , much...

Beautiful sandy beach... Not huge and gets quite busy on warm weekends, but mid week it's really quiet. Lifeguards are around most of the time. Carpark is cheap at £2.80 for a whole day, but machines don't take card, only cash or pay by phone. Keep an eye on your belongings as we did have somebody 'mistakenly' pick ours up and start walking off with them.. thankfully we weren't far out and made enough noise that he dropped them. It's not far from the carpark to the beach, a 3 minute walk, it's very sloped though if you are taking a buggy.

Busy beach, one of the better ones for facilities since the cafe is has been recently rebuilt but the the car parking charges are steep. The rock pools are interesting and there is a great walk into town across Locks Common. The life guards patrol daily in summer so it is recommended for families with children. The other bays further along towards Sker point, Golf Bay and Pink Bay and are more stoney but are quieter. You can walk on passing Sker point onto the remote fantastic long stretch of Margam Sands.
