Seagull Hotel — Restaurant in Wales

Will not go there again although have gone there many times in the past it was st one time our regular. Tonight 4 of us went it was booked by a friend of ours. We went up to the bar to order our meals my friend ordered for himself and wife the girl made a mess of the order at the till and had to 're do it..He then sat down and she turned to me and said can I just finish serving these two men as I was serving them first so I said no carry on. Bearing in mind one till for food and drink. She then turned to me and said can you come up to the till which I did and gave her my order that was ok. I returned to the table and we were all talking and eventually our friends meal came. So we waited for ours. 40 mins later ours came after my husband who is an amputee with only one leg went up to the bar and asked what was happening. The girl that served us then came out and said that other people had orders in between us and They were dealing with their order. She also said we should have ordered all 4 meals together and sorted the bill out between us st the end are we not entitled to make up our own minds how we pay for our meal.i had ordered garlic chicken and am sorry to say it was so hard I could hardly cut it so wrapped most of it up and brought it home for our dogs as did my husband with his mixed grill. Needless to say we will not be going there again neither will a lot...

Just went for tea - will give a wide berth for a while until the food is back on par. 5 for tea , first off no steak , no mixed grill , no chicken strips - so fish and chips , burger , hunters chicken , lasagna, pop corn chicken - skin on fries ? yes please! Or so we thought …. Cod not cooked, cold inside , chips not cooked (no skin on fries - not available but ordered) hunters chicken was a joy to behold (children’s portion x 2? - see photo ) was cold too - lasagna edible , burger edible , popcorn chicken - make it yourself at home and save yourself some cash. We gently let the bar staff know - who were very blunt and not interested and just barked at me- do you want a refund? - well yes but come and speak to us - we can show you ! Not really interested in helping us to be honest - we had a refund but not a great experience - another family had issues in there tonight too - maybe an off night , maybe a team in training ? Not great all round - proper disappointing - will be back ? of course it’s our local and we have drank there for 28 years (if I’m not banned after tonight ) will we eat there again - not...

Unfortunately we had a poor experience on Christmas day. We thoroughly enjoyed it last year and so booked again for this year. There was a large family group of us.

This year, the pub had two sittings. We were booked in for the second one at 2 pm. This did not allow enough time, and tables were still occupied and, as a result, could not be cleared and reset with new cutlery, etc.

We were served our starters at 3.30 pm. These were served haphazardly, with no table having all of their food at the same time. The main courses were worse. My son and I had finished our food before my husband and other son received their food. We would normally wait for everyone to be served before starting, but food would have been cold had we done this. Some members of our party had to leave before dessert was served at 5.30 pm and so missed out. To be fair to The Seagull, they did say they would refund an amount to cover the cost.

A number of our party who were the last to receive their food did not have some items, such as sprouts, parsnips, etc, so portion control was also an issue.
