3.8 star rating. Becon fell is a nice outdoor area suitable for all the family.
Becon fell has some nice outdoor Areas and wood land for walking, suitable for most people including children.
The place is best accessed by car as it is a little remote and has no public transport servicing the area. The car park is a pay and display but, is reasonably priced at £1 per vehicle. (The machine was broken on my visit so it was free)
A cafe, visitors centre and toilet are situated by the car park.
Open paths with slight inclines and multiple routes are available to walk and wooded routes are especially great for children.
You will find a selection of birds and insects on your journey and some and plenty of plants, shrubs and trees. Some trees have been felled at the start of the walking area, I am not sure why but it is always sad to see.
The fell summit offers a nice view point.
All in all a great out door space for a walk especially with the family. About 3.5 miles away is a nice pub called The Green man if you fancy a spot of lunch or a drink after your walk. (see other...
Read moreAlways a lovely place for a walk with family and friends and a picnic. Very popular with families and dog walkers. Good for children as there are many wood carvings to discover amongst the trees, and the ever popular stone snake. The volunteers here work hard to keep the park tidy. The cafe at the visitors centre is now open again. Dogs can't sit in the cafe but there are tables and benches outside. Plenty of parking. A small fee is required if you park at the visitors centre (£1 for the day) but there are many other car parks around around the fell. There is. BBQ area on Carwags (the road up from the east side) with a path up to the main part of the Park. There is a one way system around the fell which avoids problems on the single track road. Great views across Parlick, Fairsnape, Bleasdale fell, and out toward Morecambe bay from the summit. Nice easy fell for smaller children to summit before trying harder walks in the...
Read moreIt's a lovely place to walk for peace and quiet theirs loads of different routes to take to go deeper in the woods or higher to the top even if it's raining abit all the trees shield you from the rain. It's also really good place to take your dogs for a good walk theirs also information centre to grab a drink or information about the area etc...
Only problem is that it's not really child friendly as theirs not alot to do there for them it be nice if the park owners who protect the woods make adventure for kids where they start on a trail at the start to find all the sculptures around the woodlands to keep them occupied their is a really small assault course for the kids but nothing special they should use some of the trees what are laying round and make swings, climbing frames etc... to make it more friendly for kids.
But as far from that it's a lovely...
