I visited Beacon Fell in Lancashire expecting a peaceful day out in nature, but my experience turned into a nightmare. From the moment I arrived, I felt uneasy, but I tried to brush it off. Little did I know, I would soon be harassed by sentient gnomes and have a frightening encounter with a red-haired Bigfoot.
It all started on a seemingly normal hike. Out of nowhere, I began noticing small figures darting in and out of the trees. At first, I thought it was my imagination, but then I realized I was being followed by gnomes. These weren't just garden decorations; they were sentient and mischievous. They whispered incoherently, threw small rocks at me, and even tried to trip me up. I couldn't believe what I was seeing and hearing β it felt like I had stepped into a twisted fairy tale.
Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse, I had the most horrifying sighting of my life. Emerging from the woods was a red-haired Bigfoot, easily towering over seven feet tall. It had piercing eyes and a menacing presence that sent chills down my spine. I froze in fear, unsure if I should run or stay still. Thankfully, it eventually disappeared back into the forest, but the encounter left me shaken to my core.
This was supposed to be a relaxing day in nature, but it turned into a surreal horror show. I never believed in such folklore, but my experience at Beacon Fell has left me questioning everything. I would not recommend visiting this place if you value your peace of mind. The unsettling atmosphere, the harassment by sentient gnomes, and the terrifying sighting of Bigfoot made it an experience I will never forget β and not for good reasons. Save yourself the trauma and choose a different location for your...

Not massively high but decent views across to Morecambe Bay from the top. Lots of nature to be observed, from pond life, dragon files, ducks to various trees and plants.
Can get quite muddy after rain, or when they've been doing logging as they have this winter (2021/22).
Pay and display car park near the toilets and cafΓ©. CafΓ© is good with a decent selection of hot and cold food and drinks. Staff are nice and helpful. Currently only outdoor seating, but I suspect that once Covid has subsided more the indoor seating...
Β Β Β Read moreOpened as a public amenity in 1970, this country park is a haven for dog walkers, hikers of all abilities, and especially for young families. An ideal location for enjoying the fresh air of the countryside. Some of the artworks are looking a little tired, but the rangers and volunteers do a sterling job of keeping the place clean and tidy, despite the efforts of the dregs of society who leave their rubbish on the car parks rather than walk 20 yards to a bin. Several horse riding trails, and Trampers can be hired by arrangement. All in all, a...
