The Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) is one of 46 nationally protected landscapes in the UK, having equal landscape status and protection to a national park. The hills stretch across a quarter of the county of Surrey, from the chalk North Downs that run from Farnham in the west above Guildford, Dorking and Reigate, to Oxted in the east. The hills embrace an amazing variety of countryside, from the rolling chalk downs of yew and box woodland and flower rich grasslands, to the acid heaths and woodland of the Greensand Hills that rise to form the highest point in south east England at Leith Hill.

Beautiful place with so much history and a place to take a stroll with the family . Picnics would be lovely in the summer along with sun bathing and safe BBQs . 1. Dog friendly 2. Child friendly 3. Push chair not advisable unless you have large wheels . It’s quite hilly and bumpy but can be done , we used a chest harness which made it easier with our child . Enjoy the lovely views

A very picturesque spot on the peak of Reigate hill with a commanding view of the Surrey countryside. The memorial is made up of columns with a roof and atone benches. It’s a popular spot here for dog walkers, picnics and kite flying. You can access the site best from Reigate Hill and Gatton Park car park.

The views from here are fantastic. It is very high up, so you can see for miles around. This memorial is 15 minute walk from Reigate Hill Car Park. It is also comes along the circular walk around Reigate Hill. We walked this route as a family. It was very busy, but we managed to find a parking space in the car park. We really enjoyed the afternoon out, and had our tea and sandwiches on a bench on route, overlooking beautiful views. We will be...
