I haven’t been to the Sea Zoo since I was around eight years old. Back then it was mostly a square box with six animals to sea.
I am now twenty-nine years old and am happy to see the place has massively improved.
The young man who welcomed us in at the front desk was incredibly friendly and made the place feel like wonder land.
My partner formed an attachment towards a blue lobster. As she waved high with her finger the lobster waved back with its claw and tap the glass gently as if to say thank you for taking an interest.
Being a shark lover myself I was happy to see that the shark enclosure has hugely improved and that you’ve stopped the whole petting the animals thing. Seeing the skates and cat sharks strike the service was amazing as it was clear that lunch wasn’t far away.
After the experience we entered your gift where you had a lot of products on sale. However I was surprised about the lacking of Sea World exclusive products e.g. a printed logo t-shirt for both kids and adults.
Now the cafe needs work on what you serve. Serving only hot dogs is not acceptable. You need to broaden the horizon. Sandwiches, burgers, vegetables in box, pizzas slices. I understand that it may be expensive but if you want to grow then you have to see the bigger picture. Now if this isn’t possible, then please move all your chocolate out of the gift shop and only the cafe. It fills up space and makes much more sense.
Besides the last feature, everything about our visit was very pleasant. Hope you keep up with the good work you...
Read moreYou can't book tickets on line, we came over on a light rain/shower/overcast day, my daughter love sea animals. We rite by the coast and on narrow roads so be careful when driving here. When I arrived it was busy but not heavy. However I do find disorganised car park attendants. When we parked in the overflow, we arrived at the reception there was a big queue. We wait around 20 mins to get to the till. As soon as I saw the inside I thought it was gonna be tight. There was a good selection of different sea animals but the problem I found was very overcrowded, people crawling over each other rather than staying in one place felt like we did a quick walk round cos it can be too much especially for sensory people. Once we finished, we ended up in a shop, overcrowding again but managed to get through again with 5 mins wait until the till. Then I decided to go to the cafe for a drink, the wrong idea again. Wait another 20 mins for services. I'm glad I didn't order hot food because I dared to see how long I would have to wait. The playground is more for underage 8, the golf wasn't open. Overall it is a shame as it has a good view for seeing sea life but felt a bit old, hazard and lack of service and long wait. To be fair it feels like I waited longer than exploring the...
Read moreI went to this place 14 years ago, it wasn't bad then but nothing spectacular, however it had a lovely cafe with amazing cakes, fast forward 14 years thought we'd go again, wish we hadn't have bothered! its so overpriced for what is there, half the price and it might be worth it. It's so rundown, for me some of the tanks were borderline cruel. The octopus wasn't out as he was having a medical review but his tank looked so sad, small and just by himself. I was actually looking forward to a nice coffee and cake as has years ago but was a let down! it felt like a school canteen and ran by teens with pretty disrespectful attitude. The cafe was dirty, tables full of dishes left there, we were pretty much the only ones in there and no one cleaned the tables whilst we were there. The cakes were limited so I didn't bother! very disappointed. I had remembered the outdoor motorboat remote control for kids and was looking forward to my son having a go at it, however the water was thick green and he didnt like it as it looked dirty. I would never return here, but I do think its massively overpriced. The gift shop was ok and a bit expensive but did have some interesting things. I do appreciate the conservation work being done by the sea zoo so for that I...
