We had a great time trekking the hills with the Grandchildren lot's of fun. Heading on the pathway to the right hand side till you reach a gate way in the wall you have a choice we went right into the trees following the pathway is a bit muddy and I would suggest correct footwear is necessary as the terrain changes often. If you persevere and walk up to the top its a lovely panoramic view. The weather is changeable and warm waterproof clothing could be required. Read moreWe had a day out with the dog parked at ogden reservoir carpark is only big enough for about 20 cars i dont think there's a charge . I parked on the approach road quite easily on a Friday. Went up around ogden upto piethorne then onto Norman Hill res. There are 5 reservoirs here in total. There is an option to walk to the nearby Hollingworth lake from here its 2 miles away and well signposted ( not actually a lake but built as the reservoir for the nearby Rochdale canal).
