This was the first historical site we had visited in 10 days of being in Scotland where we found parking, did not have to queue or buy a ticket. It is located next to the entrance to the harbour and the security guard for the harbour entrance gave us a quick history lesson on the site. This is a rough and ready site. The grass is long and there are many trip hazards. There was no access inside the ruin. Apart from that it was an excellent ruin to study the construction methods of the period.

Slightly unwelcoming sign saying no trespassing. But it is easy enough to pop inside discretely. Not really much more to see inside than out. The other reviews capture it

Beautiful ruins just a huge shame you can't really get close or go in, place is surrounded by building sites

Rosyth castle ruins is a unique one, it is privately owned but does not fall under the jurisdiction of the guard at the industrial site gate so is free to access and there is street parking right next to the site

Although the site itself and building are rather lovely ruins

The surrounding environment is ruined a little by the nearby...

Right next to the road but there is no real parking available next to the castle. This should be promoted more but it's right next to the entrance to the Rosyth port so they probably don't want a ton of tourists there. If you want to see, head down on a weekend as it was quiet when...
