Sadly not a good experience through them so will avoid in future. This upsets me as I love the concept.
Restaurant didn't fulfil my full order. Followed Dunfermline eats instructions on website to contact the restaurant in first instance who replied saying they cannot do anything as I didn't order through them.
Contacted Dunfermline eats who told me the opposite and they could not do anything without speaking to the restaurant and that they had already done so and were awaiting a response. I spoke to the restaurant who told me they had not been contacted by Dunfermline eats. Dunfermline eats told me they could not issue a refund as they use a 3rd party and do not hold my payment informaton but then changed their minds and suddenly could give me a refund.
*Updating to respond - It is not clear from above but I never stated they had a response from restaurant (at least this was not my intention). They informed me Friday they would contact the restaurant which I was happy with. But I wanted an updated timeframe which is why I contacted today to find out how long they would wait for a response.
I also wanted to know once they got that response how long a refund would take.
I was then told "Hey thanks for providing the order number. My colleague emailed you back on Friday night saying we would confirm with the outlet and process the refund.
Our process is that we will speak with the owner to seek permission for refunds. We do not hold the money its done through a 3rd party card processing company (to keep it secure) and as such need their permission to do refunds as its their revenue/money.
Unfortunately sometimes waiters and front of house staff do not know this and will inform you to contact us directly. We will speak to the restaurant again to make sure they know the correct process.
While the reason for the delay is that we haven't been able to speak to the owner yet, I'll look to refund you through Dunfermline Eats allowance and get that processed just now."
Above they state they cannot just process a refund but their final paragraph says different hence my confusion.
I phoned the restaurant to find out what was going on as per the process. The restaurant informed me Dunfermline Eats had not tried to contact them about this matter only myself on Friday and today.
