Had another visit to salturn railway viaduct yesterday. Was a great afternoon had a good walk the fresh air was amazing. This walk is great for adults and dog walkers . Did you know The viaduct over Skelton Beck was originally part of the Whitby, Redcar and Middlesbrough Union Railway which opened in 1872. And stands an amazing 180ft opened 1 June 1872. It was built to serve the Skinningrove limestone mines.

When it's All too busy on a bank holiday weekend by the sea the Cleavland Way is a way to get away from the crowd and enjoy the peace and quiet of nature. The Viaduct was something we stumbled upon and what a piece of engineering.

It's just breathtaking and you can get up-close-n'-personal... And at the moment (Nov '20) they're erecting an enormous scaffolding structure for maintenance purposes.
