This was a nice multiple layered garden area with a good selection of walks through the valley some years ago... now
There's been a revamp were most of the award winning gardens have all but gone, the walks/hill-side paths have vanished. Now it's got a large play picnic style area for family etc to enjoy a small selection of climbing frames & play apparatus for young kids to play on, further down is a small cafe with a little seating area. The mini railway is still there for families to enjoy a small trip. I'm sure we'll see even more to happen in this valley area for visitor's. Read moreSimply beautiful open space. The flower displays in the spring and summer are lovely, and it is very well maintained. There is also a Cafe nearby for tea and a scone. There is also a picnic area to eat a packed lunch or have a drink if you have walked to the Valley Gardens, especially from Skelton through the woods, where there is a waterfall, and a very tall railway viaduct that dates from 1872. In addition, there is the path to the sea from the Valley Gardens where there is a half mile miniature railway. Overall a great place to visit, and...

If you keep walking up into the woodland area their is rivers which usually have rope swings above them. The train isn’t bad either, my little girl loved it.
