I may be biased here because I've lived just down the road from this park all my life and have many a fond childhood memory attached to the place (sledging down the big field when the winters really knew how to snow and then stomping off home for hot pop by the fire, anyone?!) but it really is a wonderful place for a wander, whatever the time of year. Two lovely ponds with lots of ducks and swans and various dabbling beaky things, even your friendly neighborhood heron if you're lucky! Plenty of squirrels too (always a joy, no matter how many the years!) and birdies galore who'll happily serenade you, particularly the robins (my favourite little braggarts!
Read moreI love Haden Hill, the surroundings are beautiful . There are lots of flowerbeds around the park which are looked after well, along with all the grassy areas. There are lots of play areas for children and there are two ponds, one at the top by Haden Hall the museum and one at the very bottom of the park if you follow the paths around that lead to the bottom. It is a very steep walk if you do choose to walk down , so if you have problems with your legs and walking -I wouldn't recommend it -it's a steep tiring walk back up. There are a lot of benches dotted around the park if you need to stop or to just sit down on and take in the view. There are swans and Ducks on the ponds and lots of squirrels around. There are also parakeets flying around if you can spot them down by the bottom pond. If you have a dog it's an ideal place to walk them and just let them off there lead -the park has fencing all the way around it . There is also a nature reserve that's a bit wilder then the park -it used to be the old 9 hole golf course in the 80's that's now overgrown , you can find a stream down there too if you delve past the bottom pond. Haden Hill is a great place to learn a little History about the family who owned the victorian House or to have some fun with the kids, walk the dog or even have a picnic in the picnic area by the Museum .You'll have a few interesting few hours around there...

The numerous paths and open areas make it ideal for long walks, and my dog absolutely loved running around freely. Whether you're looking for a peaceful spot surrounded by flowers or a more open space, there's something for everyone to recharge and connect with nature. The park and nature reserve are clean and nicely organised, showing great maintenance care. There's a car park close to Haden Hill House, which reminds me that I need to visit the museum there soon! If you're seeking a refreshing escape from the hustle and bustle, Haden Hill Park is more than worth a visit. It's a tranquil oasis, a great place to 'load your batteries' through contact...
