Made very welcome by the owner I presume sat in the bar area, popped in off spec for lunch today. Meals took approx 30 mins to arrive all freshly cooked, lovely home med chips. Couple of things I would suggest, little back ground music would go well in the restaurant area. Not much choice of Real Ales on today's visit just Bathams bitter, was expecting more of a Bathams choice and and alternative like Butty bach perhaps. We had to mention the 30‰ discount to the waitress behind the bar, perhaps shes new to the job. Did notice a big outdoor screen for sport which wasn't there a few weeks ago, perhaps the owners are getting everything sorted. Childrens outdoor play area looked good. Would definitely return, certainly worth a revisit. Dogs welcome in the bar added bonus, trying always to please every walk of life.

Popped in for a quick bite to eat on a Saturday lunch time as we’d heard good things about the pub since it was taken over a while back.. Honestly the food was atrocious.. chips had the texture of pork scratchings, rock hard and hollow, got to have been frozen chips. The sandwich was horrible also. You could’ve used the bread to re-sole your shoes it was that rubbery.. The salad was limp and brown around the edges... Not impressed at all. Took a photo after I’d eaten the filling which was ok.. Only plus side was the girl behind the bar was apologetic..

First time visiting here and after seeing all the reviews it sounded amazing so we thought we would try it out. And the reviews were not wrong! Great looking place inside and the staff are friendly and helpful. The food... Well one word : AMAZING. Reasonable price too. They have live acts on Friday evenings and it was busy which always says something about a pub. Really good atmosphere and we can't wait to go back again.

My wife popped here today with her dad and mom as it had been recommended for good drinks and food. The drinks were good but that's as good as it gets. We have nothing but complaints and how this place even stays open I have no idea after todays experience. My wife now has food poisoning from the "food" today 18/6/23. From the food she attempted to eat. Staff okay. Ordered coke but received Pepsi max and I wasn't asked for anything difference. Cutlery that was brought to the table was dirty. So starter was frozen garlic mushrooms and they was terrible. Not sure how you mess frozen garlic mushrooms up but this place has. Sunday dinner that came was huge so things looked they might get better. Sadly not. Mash was like powder and not edible. Beef fatty and very dry. Gravy was like water. No seasonings on the cauliflower cheese but yet the cheese was burnt. All veg was boiled it seemed with no flavour apart from water. Pudding was a disaster. Supposed to have had treacle sponge with custard and it was somehow worse than a steamed microwavable pudding from the supermarket. So dry it was like sand paper and that's with the custard! It seems as well my father in laws lamb dinner was all boiled. Who unearth boils lamb in 2023!? Tables were sticky and so was the toilet door handles. One of the worst experiences I've ever had. Not even a mention of a partial refund or a discount on anything. I would urge everyone to...

Been to Haden Cross for a few Sunday lunches and never had a problem until today.. We ordered our lunch and had to wait one hour and 15 minutes for it to arrive even though it wasn't overly busy.. When it was presented to us it didn't look very appetising to say the least.. The gray was very watery on the veg an congealed on the meat.. We wasn't brought any cutlery or condiments until our meal was on the table .. We only ate some of our meal because we were absolutely starved but left the magority of it especially the red cabbage because we couldn't face eating it.. We were going to order a pudding but couldn't wait another hour for it to be served so decided not to bother.. Very disappointed as we liked going here now an again on a Sunday afternoon.. PS. Poor girl who served us our lunch looked run off her feet but was very polite...
