Very nice café with a beautiful view. Nice selection of the usual whisky store merchandise and obviously their own whisky and liqueurs. Since it is a new distillery I was looking forward to a different kind of tour when I booked it and I did not get disappointed. Susan, my tour guide, was very knowledgeable and we could easy talk about all different aspects of the whisky making process here and in comparison to a bigger or more classical distillery. I was lucky enough to be the only one on the tour which intensified the experience. Although it is very small in area there is nothing left to desire in a whisky tour. A few samples were sampled and after about the tour ended I went back to my wife who waited for me in the café where she had been kindly being taken care of the nice staff working there. Everyone here was very kind and helpful. I cannot recommend this...

This is one of the smallest distilleries I have visited (and I've done a lot) but it still packs a punch like the big boys! The cafe area has a huge selection of drinks and lovely looking cakes (and not like an expensive coffee house) with a beautiful setting and a fabulous fire. The range of gifts (excluding the whisky) is amazing. They have thought of something for everyone. Then Orrin took us on a tour. He was a really knowledgeable gentleman, happy to answer any questions and came across as a true lover of his job. Even the small thought of giving us umbrellas to walk from the distillery to the warehouse was great! Go and do the tour and taste! Great things to come from...

What a fantastic addition to John o’ Groats. Strikes the perfect balance between cosy lounge bar and cafe with incredible elevated views out to the islands. There’s already plenty more going on in 8 Doors than ‘just whisky’. Cocktails, coffee and decent conversation in a fresh and welcoming atmosphere not to mention tasters of the products of which the owners are clearly proud - and rightly so. We moved up to Caithness this year and look forward to returning to 8 Doors with friends and family in the coming months and years. Wishing Kerry, Derek and everyone involved all the best for an...

Surprisingly good liqueur and there is a nice cafe/shop inside. This new establishment built in 2022 has a unique name based on local history: Jan de Groot (the ferryman of which John O’Groats is named after) had seven sons, and disputes arose among them over who should sit at the head of the table. To resolve this, Jan built an octagonal house with eight doors and an eight-sided table, ensuring each son (and himself) had an equal place.

Great coffee ☕ a selection of cakes & snacks available to enjoy in this tastefully designed comfortable seating/lounge area with a large window affording a super view out to the Pentland Firth & beyond to Orkney. In house products available for purchase & various tours of the Distillery run throughout the day. Very pleasant staff. There is a disabled access ramp at the front of the building.

I adored this place. The staff were great, the drinks were great, gluten-free brownies were a nice bonus. Definitely visit if you're in the area, it's right on the John o groats car park. We bought whiskey, coffee, cake, and a bottle of 5 ways liqueur which everyone loved. The staff will give you samples and help with choices too, I'd give it 6 stars if I could.
