Not much to do but on a fine day it is peaceful and enjoys spectacular views. The tower isn't open but the external structure is interesting. The grounds offer panoramic views of the area and if the weather is clement, you couldn’t ask for a better picnic location. Parking is on street and be careful of the cattle grid, although there is a gate to bypass it.

The views from here are stunning. You can only imagine what it used to look like before the houses, roads, bridges, pylons, power station (soon to disappear) and concrete works were built. It's always relatively quiet too. Look out for the cows though, they can be a bit on the temperamental side.

Small tower, once part of bigger estate. Owned by the Earls of mar.Fascinating history, inc. Mary Queen of Scots and King James.Wonderful views from top of tower. Helpful staff with a wealth of knowledge. Small car park to one side, lovely park walks surrounding area.

Great tour, guides were very knowledgeable, very interesting history. Having been born and brought up in Clackmannan, it was fantastic to be able to finally get a place on one of the tours. The only thing I would warn anyone wishing to visit is that between floor levels the access is by spiral stone stairs with nothing to hold onto except the walls. As long as you take them slowly you will be fine. Also, please note access is by appointment on...

This is a great place to walk however wear boots or muddy shoes as this is on a working farm and there are cowpatts hidden in the long grass. There are also no solid paths to walk on and you can't enter the tower as it is unsafe.

I'm not trying to make it sound bad I just want people to know what they are visiting. It's not like the nearby alloa tower which is fully furnished inside and is set in...
