This quiet and wonderful spot can be an embuggerance to locate but is very much worth the hunt! You need to drive through the Distillery complex and a few hundred mtrs untill you come to a small lay y at a tiny bridge. There is a small sign indicating towards waterfalls and the Fairy village but it doesn't have an actual laid out path, just tracks for walking. Bring decent shoes.

Theres a small meadow with a stream along the south side. Walk to the end of the meadow and look very closely up the small bank. You should see a fence and maybe a small sign indicating the village. It can be easy to miss in very bad weather.

The carvings and models are very quaint and they were obviously a labour of love. You can enter one of the bigger houses for a sneak peek but most are a foot or 2 tall. I cant explain the feel of this wee spot. Please keep it tidy and leave a small donation in the box if you can.

There are small waterfalls/rapids jist a little further up the path and a Bench to rest and listen. It can be very difficult underfoot though and the drop into the water...

A magical and beautiful place. You can see that someone has put a lot of effort into creating something very special (even if some of the things look a bit shabby over the years). For the children, the short hike was very exciting. And since the bridge over the river is closed, it was also kind of a challenge for the grown ups ;) By the way, the start of the hike is exactly west of this point on the road. A little further back in the forest you will find the Giant's Chair and a small (but still beautiful) waterfall. Overall, I can definately recommend this little adventure to everyone who...

DO NOT follow satnav to tge layby on the road because the bridge is closed. Drive from the square down Church Street to the church and graveyard. The path starts over a wee bridge between the church and the distillery, following the river to the right. Path is well maintained with great views, a bit up and down but worth it. Once you reach the Giant's Chair keep walking until you see a column on the left slope leading to the magic...

Lovely little home made fairy Village. Kept together by one guy with his own time, money and any donations left on site. Had a grand wee time exploring the wood trying to find it and was not disappointed when we got there. Sat and had lunch on the benches there and admired this great guys hard work, good on him for making the local forest just a bit more magical!
