I have only just found this park and I love it There is plenty of parking, which is free the park is huge There are paths that u can do a long walk or there is paths if u want a shorter walk The remains of the castle are beautiful There is also a few nice bridges. The paths are in good condition.unless u want to wander off through the trees, these paths can be a bit muddy The main paths are good as well There's a nice big play park for the kids also a second kids park for smaller kids, There are little cupboard things that u can put your pram these are free to use There's a cafe, but I havent tried it yet There's toilets as well as disabled ones The cafe shuts at 3.30 pm In winter There's a big loch and a few rivers, the boardwalk that used to take u around part of the loch are badly damaged and unusable This park is now my favourite me and my dog love going for a wander here, there is always something to see There is activity boards for the kids, giving them a bit of a challenge. I highly recommend a visit here, there is so much to see and do, so many different trails and paths depending on your fitness, its mostly flat with the odd slight hill It's great for dog walking Well...

We were limited on time and wanted to do the red loop. My god it was awful to even get started to find the red path from the visitor centre. You should have a sign red here purple here and yellow here. It is not that hard. Plus staff at visitor center saw that we were confused and no one asked us and they were right beside us.
Anyway found the beginning and that was fine, park is actually quite nice but long behold there was no sign again, from the map we assume we were on right track but no... We had made our way to purple as the right turn was not posted. We turned around and venture on a non posted turn and yes red was back 20m down the junction by a bridge. That's grand but maybe put the sign at the turn. Not by the bridge which you can't see from road.
We attempted that but there was many path again and no signage. As mentioned we were tight on times so we decided to just retreat and go back the way we came in but was a waste. A park loop circuit should be the easiest thing to follow. Never struggled this bad and we do many park and also proper hike.... Ridiculous frankly. Put sign for beginning point and at each...

Swinging, sliding, climbing, bouncing, running, and βtryingβ to βwheech roonβ on the roundabout ( unfortunately itβs knackered π³ so after a rattling push, it grinds to a halt ) However, it didnβt deter us from having another great day in βEggy Parkβ PLUS The cafΓ© was a welcome site after all that, great coffee, toasties, cakes, rolls and sausage β¦. no Iβm not going to go through the menu, but it is good β¦. and very popular, going on the number of full tables !
Itβs great to have a large green area that is relatively safe for the weans to run about on and it's a lot cheaper than the soft play .... ( weather dependent ) all just remember, the parks and coastal areas, we are well covered for βenjoyableβ places to meander, or exercise β¦.. unfortunately Iβm more of a meanderer myself π€ͺπ€£π€£π€£ But seriously, if you donβt use it you loose it, make the most...
