Nice place for a walk with our dogs. Took them there every morning as we were in the area visiting my Mum. Carpark is free and there is a childrens playground too.
The inn on the loch is dog friendly although we didn't go inside. The only negatives is that there is a few joggers, they just appear from behind, one or two didn't like having to pass by the dogs, think they thought that dogs are in the way. Another thing that happened on our first morning of walking there was a dog off lead,came running down and attacked my 2 dogs which were both on leads. It was a pitbull type of dog,luckily both my dogs were unharmed but it was very frightening, alot of noise and yelping from my small cockapoo,my other dog fought back but it was an awful experience. Read moreGreat place for a walk, approx 1 mile round the loch. There is a modern park for kids to play with things for bigger and smaller children to play on. There are wooded areas to explore, my youngest son enjoys "bear hunting"
There is a brilliant little snack bar, decent parking facilities, and the inn on the loch for a more fulfilling meal. In summer there r little boat things u can go out in in a ringed off area for a few pounds.
I would recommend exploring the wooded area to the back right of the lock as it has lots of paths etc to explore.
