For starters the scenery is to die for ; when you add in the history of the Steel mill and let your mind wander , this ionic place is absolutely gold dust . Your a carer looking after a client ; a new mother with a crying baby ; a dog owner with a difficult hound ; just after an extremely tricky long operation; a primary teacher looking for a field trip - look no further THIS IS THE PLACE . Magic large Car Park , excellent cafeteria- food start or finish ; absolutely brilliant swing park , for all ages ; have a picnic , benches everywhere. The walk beside the lake , you can pick whatever path your body can take , is breathtaking. The bulletin boards , explaining all the historical moments of Kilbirnie and the mill - educational . Read moreWe've just discovered this albeit having been on our doorstep for 2 years. It's still work in progress as the playpark is not completed yet, but is really very nice. There are several stopping places to pause, if you're a wee bit older and need a rest every so often. The tearoom is brand new with very nice staff, tea served in a teapot, and nice mugs not paper cups and real homebaking. Wasn't too busy so lots of tables available. I'm thinking I shouldn't praise the place too much as it might become too busy in the future. So we'll definitely go back again.
