Nether Largie Standing Stones are a group of 5 standing stones, where the main standing stone has 23 cup marks with 3 faint ring marks. The Nether Largie Standing Stones are from the Neolithic period, aged around 4,000+ years old. There are plenty nearby infoboards visitors can read at the car park and as you get to the stones where you can learn more, and plenty to explore in Kilmartin Glen, a very special and historic place.

Just make sure to close the gate going in/out of Nether Largie as livestock does live in the field...

One of these mesmerising places where your mind goes into overdrive trying to imagine the people several thousand years ago who were living here. There is an eerie calm about walking among the stones and nearby cairns and you feel very in touch with your humanity. It's very much worth an hour or so to wander round and explore.

Practically there is a free car park across the road from the main stones and there are information signs dotted about with all you need to know about the stones and...

Love visiting here and I often have the stones to myself. I usually bring a picnic and sit amongst the history. So much to explore here, Kilmartin has a lot to offer. Standing stones, cairns, carvings and Dunad Fort, rich history and beautiful scenery. Pretty much easy access just be mindful of livestock. Plenty parking. Some castles nearby and Crinan Harbour is not far and well worth a...

Our third site during our visit, we were told that it it brings misfortune to touch the standing stones, so of course, my travelling companion did just that. The presence of the stones didn't seem to be bothering the local herd of sheep so we felt equally safe. I suspect this area had much more to offer that we never got to see as we were just taking a quick break as we passed through.
