Amazing part of the Kilmartin Glen with a well preserved stone ring circle and central area in the southern circle. Then circles have post and slab areas where original sotnes would have been. The alignments are fascinating and incredible to think this was done thousands of years ago. For able bodieds, parking at the Lady Glassary car park is only a short walk away, there is a single prioirty disabled space located right next to the site, with access through a gate that not all chairs would get through, but another larger gate is closer to the southern ring. Nice prehistoric site. It is impressive to see how outlets primitive ancestors organized around the community, and the inception of concepts of community, religion, etc. the site is well marked and there are placards with information. Parking is a bit far, but the walk through the fields is quite relaxing....

Just wow, visit them. Beware - the site is poorly signed - there are paths taking from the car park to the stone circle and the South Cairn, but you need to walk about 200 metres to find them - there is nothing telling you about it. You will need a few days to locate and visit all the Stones in this area but many are in easy walking distance from Kilmartin village and are well worth seeing. Temple Wood is the largest group consisting of two mounds. It's located by a single track road and accessible by car. Add an extra star.

Our second site to visit was the temple wood stone circle, where signage described the growth of the area through the millennia starting with simple square centre, and becoming more complex as time passed and the rituals gained in significance.
